At the supercrawl people were throwing around 2400 as if it were fact.

Second that. It's a fact as far as I know (shupee and fat B informed while we waited for hot wings).

With or without driver? With or without spotter?

I know in mud racing, anyplace that has a weight rule weighs the vehicle WITH driver.

I know a guy with a 565" RAT whose Jeep weighs 2,800 lbs, and that's with 44" rubber in back & 38.5's up front :p

Yup, they bring their helmets & firesuits with them to weigh-in (also because they're required to show them for tech).

Anyone know about brake water?

In F1 they used to only weigh the cars before the race. Then some one came up with the brilliant idea of cooling the breaks by spraying water on them. They would put 50 or so gallons of water in the car to get them up to minimum weight. after a few laps of riding the breaks and spraying water so it came off as steam instead of wetting down the track, they could be several hundred pounds under minimum weight.

I know an cart racer who wears 25lbs of scuba lead under his firesuit when he weighs in.

In SCORE class 7 around '96 when I was helping out another team, there were some Rangers that looked like they were way under weight, but they only got weighed if someone protested after the race, and there would be plenty of time to fill up their huge fuel cells before the weigh in.

The point is people always find a way around minimum weight rules. I don't think the new rule will slow anyone down, not because they are going to cheat, but because a couple hundred pounds isn't nearly as big a deal as people seem to think it is these days. And because the people that are winning know how to compete for points.

So does this mean we get to find out what Mike's rig really weighs now that 2400 lbs is official? My guess is it is over 2400 or damn close to it already.

In late models we got weighed coming out of quals with the driver in it.

news flash.....CalROCS will not have a minimun weight, that's just not right, build it the best you can and bring it out and run it.:D

Rich

of course you may have to add weight to run in the other events, I guess you could always hit TACO BELL before weigh in:D

I do believe Shaffer sold his 2800 lb car. as said- there's a lot more to it than weight. The top 3 supercrawl cars were 3000-3800 lbs including my antique outclassed POS.

there is alot more to it than weight.....but when you start with a Zuk...its tougher to reach the 3400# mark vs the 2400# mark!

Thanks for the new Rich:D
