Tech and registration for the first event will be at ORI of Reno from 1pm to 7pm friday afternoon. We will have a late tech on site from 9pm to 10pm. You must be registered and teched by 7:30am sat. to compete. There is a $25 late fee or no competitor shirts if entry is not recieved friday May 7th or make arrangements with myself pryor to fri. to avoid late fees 530 391-2580.
Don from ORI will post up a map and directions.

I'm all for speeding things up, but kids don't get out of school until 2pm. By the time we travel the almost 5 hrs to get there we will be making the late night tech, if I'm not setting up tents and feeding 3 kids. We are going to try and leave before noon if at all possible. So we should be there before 5pm if everything works out ok. I'd like to actually leave here about 10am if possible.

we need a list of the basics on the tech inspection, I really don't want to drive that far just to be sent home over something stupid that I could have easily put on the truck. I know you go by the W.E. Rock rules but modified for the more stock type rigs. I think, what I'm asking for more or less is a copy of the tech sheet that we will be checked off on, I know there is more than that but I think that is the basics right there

You need fluid containment on all fluids.... all....not just some...
You need a safe cage, and the cage needs a roof covering your head...
You need s decent door bar that will keep you safe.
You need a real battery, not a water type.
You need a safe, not too booty fabbed rig.... if you think your rig is safe enough to handle a multiple flip rollover down a jagged rock surface where you can still walk away, and not drop any fluids onto the ground, then it is more than likely safe enough for CalRocs;)

If you think your rig is safe and the major stuff is in and fluid containment is ready to go tech in and fix the little stuff at camp. If you need something ask around. My 5 year old got up at 5.30am this moroning and reminded me that this is day 2 of his 5 day countdown to leave and go wheeling. Good luck to all that are finishing rugs in the 11th hour. Its all worth it when we get there.

I know that the crowd there can be pretty large, and how it can be after some years. A reminder to the teams and the crowd about keeping Moonrocks, and all wheeling areas clean.

Tech was good where it was. Close enough to the comp site and easy to get in and out of :)
