The board is a little slow today so i thought i would through out my little bull shit project pics.It has taken a while for me to get the time to complete this little project so you may not remember parts I or II.

Anyways i had built a mount for my ram assist that was off the spring plate.

Like this:

I was at the time convinced that it would hold up.After posting the pics and getting the responce i did i decided(wisley) to change it a bit.

The problem was that i dident want to build some POS off the axle tube, and im not comfortable welding on cast.

Part II looked like this:

With the mount tucked safely behind the tie-rod

The angles were great, but under hard compression of the suspension i thought the ram might make contact with the oil pan:eek:

This is why it became a three part ordeal.

The set up is O.K. i dont think it looks that bad,i just wish it could have worked out behind the tie-rod............anyways

The ram is still above the leafs so i dont think it is going to see any rocks. And i was able to come up with something for the steering stableizer.

It works verry well, plenty of turning power. And all the shimmy shake or death wopple has stopped.;)

If your running an IFS box it shouldent be a problem.Hows that cage coming?

Nope, original Bronco power steering. But taping the box is said to be a piece of cake.

Bender should be here this week. Got the new welder and man is that thing crazy. Never put down such good looking beads with such ease in my lift. Can't believe it makes that big of a difference. I'm building cabinets and cleaning the shop out before the new bender comes because I want to make a good impression :)

Just curious, why run a stabilizer with the ram?

TPI, I hope you're not going to run that hydraulic hose through the spring hanger like that. It will :nuke: on the first rock you bump up against.

I guess I need a new picture... THATS an old one clocking was off on the hose and that is the only way it would hook up. :D and that is a spring hanger not a shackle.. thanks for the heads up!

I thought about putting the ram in the same location that you did(would have been a hell of a lot easer!),but i was afraid that i might smash it on a rock. You may not have that problem there in Louisana (never been there).Never the less ill give it a try.

I guess i put it on because i saw another guy on PBB have problems with the death wobble before and after the ram.I have not asked him if he found out the problem.I think it was bellydragger or something like that.He drives the isuzu SAS(its sweet)

Echo on the no need for stabilizer with the ram. Mine tracks straight without wobble.

if your steering angles are set up proper. this includes castor/camber there is no need for a steering stablizer. those are just band-aids/gimmicks that the shock companies offer to make them more $$$;)

Ya im shure,I belive the problem im having is related to tire ballance, not steering geometry.

Ill be pulling that thing off first chance i get.It only takes a second;)

Nice mount for the ram (both of you) but you might want to consider some kind of protection. Thise babies are BEGGING to be hit by a rock, tree, anything. When you get the bender, make sure you get a 1" die and bend up a little "cage" in front of that ram. I think Roggy did one on his.
