: Calmini SAS trackbar bolt and bung size?

I noticed last weekend that the welds around the bung (or whatever you call it) that the trackbar bolts to on the axle side are starting to break. Actually, it looks like a HAZ crack (pic after the post).

Anyway, a friend is coming down this weekend to help me fix it up and I'd like to have a slew of new parts on hand if possible so we can get the job done one way or another. I'd like to have a new (and longer so we can double shear) bolt and a new weld-on bung in case we destroy these trying to remove them. There is about a 1/2 tube of red locktite on that bolt and I'm not sure what's going to happen when we try to remove it. I figure we'll get it good and warm with a propane torch before even trying.

Does anyone know what size that trackbar bolt is or where to buy weld-in inserts like this?

I have some bolts and heim safety washers (misalignment spacers) I bought from I-have-no-idea-where a couple years ago that may or may not be the right size (5/8-11).

Thanks

In case anyone else ever has this question - Calmini responded to my email and said it's a 3/4"-16tpi 1" bolt.

There's no way it's a 1" bolt - I'm thinking 1.5". I hope the 3/4"-16tpi part is right.

What size socket does it take?

1-1/8" socket.

I got the bolt out tonight... I thought it would be a big deal with the locktite but either the fact that it was an off brand threadlocker or the fact that it's had 3 years to get brittle (or maybe it was just because of my Earthquake impact at 100psi) made it come right off.

It is indeed a 3/4-16, but it is 1.75" long.

Looks like you have some cracking where the mount meets the axle tube also.

This is a common problem with the calmini kit. Make sure that whatever you do it is double shear. Next you will be fixing the cracks on the radius arms.

A little update... it looks a bit boogery - my friend stick welded it with his trail repair welder - but it should be strong.

EDIT: Thanks for the tip on the radius arms.... I'll keep an eye on them
