I have a 77 CJ7 with a 401 that needs a new carb. I have done a search and found that the Motorcraft should be my best bet. I need to stay with a 2bbl for a few more years due to smog(I smog as 304). I will be buying a remanufactured carb from AutoZone or Car quest. I would like to know what make, model, year, and engine displacement I should say I need the carb for. From what I read some are better than others.

Please remember I live in Ca and I have to get it smogged (This Saturday)

make sure that you get an adaptor if your intake is four barrel to convert it to two barrel. For the years for motorcraft 2100s, Late 70s Jeeps with the 304 or early broncos with the 302.
