Is it legal to use a red taillight as a blinker?

I believe your brake lights are supposed to be brighter than your tail lights(if they are the same color). Doubt a copper would catch it tho.

As long as it's in the rear then no problemo, that's what I use.

Any light that stays on all the time that you see from the rear has to be red.. If it just blinks like a blinker or flasher it can be red our amber..

Yeah, think of most american cars...

But, you need to use the brake filament, not the taillight filament for the blinker.

If your rig is setup to use amber blinkers, a universal trailer wiring adapter can hook you up.

Eskimo can you explain the filiment thing some more....you lost me

I dont have any of the wiring but I assume they make a duel filament bulb for brake and running light

the taillights are off a 61 bel-air:D:D
Im gunna use two as brake/running light and the other two are blinkers

I even have the crome bezels and the blue dot lenses:D:D:D:cool:

If you look inside of the light bulb there is two wires in there those are the filiments one of them is thinner wire than the other therefore one is brighter than the other... In a dual filiment bulb one is used as a tail light and when you hit the brakes the other one will light up....I hope that helps
