I have acquired an engine and drivetrain from a '77 Waggy 360/TH400/Quadracrap/44 Front and rear -rear offset.
Based on some experience out there. What might be best to run behind my 360 for a Willys configuration...bare in mind the length.
I am thinking 360/T-18a/Dana18 (with a good skidplate) to the 44's. Another option could be to ditch the rear offset 44 and go 360/T-18a/Dana 20 then whatever for the rear.

T18a or a Sm420..
the 360 is going to be a tight fight but Its doable..
I think your on the right track..

T-18 could be a bolt up if its from a Jeep. I've run both T-18 and SM-420. Both are bulky shifters but the T-18a that I had was smoother than the SM-420. Sm-420 is the shortest option and has the lowest gears 7:05:1. If I had it to do over again I'd have kept my T-18.
i say stay with the jeep tranny and fun the T-18, very strong tranny that will bolt up and has very good low gearing.

The Dana 18 transfer case is defineately worth running, and will botl to any Dana 20 adapter, just make sure you have the right spline, some 18's off T-14's behind Buick V6's had 6-spline output vs 10 spline like the rest.

Definetly go with a T-18. Find one from a Jeep pickup or Waggy/Chief. The d20 would be the easiest because it will most likely be bolted to the tranny you find. But a d18 would also work great with the rear you HAVE plus have a slightly lower low range.
