I did some looking around but i cant find any info on running a EFI motor off of propane. Anyone have any links or info they can share? This is what i was thinking: 90 4L jeep motor converted to propnace to gid rid of the gas tank from the back seat area. Since my junk will only see hardcore crawling and comps and i like the idea of a sealed unit.

Would that even work with injectors, or are you talking about replacing the throttle body:confused:

Sure, why not: here's what you do: take the 4.0L intake, throttle body, computer, and everything off, and sell it.
Bolt up a 4.2 carby intake, and put the propane mixer on that. Convert ignition to standard GM HEI.
The swap should pay for itself.
I know the 4.2 intake bolts to the 4.0 head easily, we did it on my friend's YJ.

wouldn't it be easier to just move the gas tank?
The swap from gas to LP can be done on any motor, carbed or FI. However unless you use a feedback LP system you are going to loose all the electronic control. As far as I know there is no LP system that uses any type of injector. I would guess the conversion for a FI motor you plug the injector holes etc, and just run a mixer and an adapter. Like said befor eyou coudl probably sell all you FI stuff off and pay for the swap using a old intake and mixer.

Propane and efi will work .The propane enters via the throttle body Not the injectors .Plenty of Rover guys put LPG on their EFI Rangerovers .Ford Aust' offers LPG from the factory with an EFI motor .

The tank is moved...into the back seat. But i like the idea of the propane being a seal unit no valves to worry about on the flops.
