Im getting conflicting information from the local parts house and CK5, are 1/2 and 3/4 ton spindles the same? I beleive that both are post 1980.

Yup, the only time 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton spindles were different was prior to '76 on Dana 44's, if your spindles are post 1980 they are not Dana 44 pieces anyway, GM 10-bolt.

Anyway, the only difference is the inner wheel bearing used, the early small bearing spindles had an inner bearing surface that measures about 1.75", the later ones all measure 2.00", if you have a 2.00" inner bearing spindles then 3/4 ton hubs will work on them.

Autozone has the cheapest 3/4 hubs. $97 for the hub and rotor with studs and races pressed in, just in case you are shopping around

Yeah, but if you look around you can usually get a complete 3/4 ton front axle for less than $200, I just got one with 3.54 gears for $80, or hubs off one for maybe $50 a pair. I've never had to buy a "new" hub.

I work at a local parts store so getting the stuff isn't a big deal for me. I can get the hub and rotor and studs for about $65 but its not all together.

Thanks for the info.

I work at Advance Auto and can get stuff for cheap too, except 3/4 ton hubs. I bought an M8274-A for TJ7 for $736:flipoff2:
