I'll be hitting up the badlands offroad park on june 26th for some fun in the sun and then again on july 10th for Zukimelt. I guess it's just a 1 day event this year.

I wish someone in our club would enter the race and let me ride shotty. That way I don't have to pay for the broken shit :D

Then you should edit your first post :flipoff2:

I figured either the post was wrong rather than the title, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in anyways.

Hey Bray D - Whats up with that ranger? Looks like it would be a good TREC racer. You don't have to break stuff to race, if you can finish you can do well.

There are people from time to time that don't have co-dawgs so if you post up that you would like to offer your nav services, someone might take you up on it.

If you have any questions let me know!

If it were still TTB I'd seriously think about it. There's no way after the axle swap. I'm sitting way too low (~3.5" of compression and no air bumps) and sprung way to soft. Not that I'm too competitive, but with my build I think I'd be in with the A class too

No offense to any of the drivers, but I have to know the guy for a little while before I let him take on a ride to hell and back lol. Unless its one of the guys in the buggies of course; I'd be all over that :D

I hear ya, I'd be cautious about riding with someone I don't know well too. If you've done an axle swap and some custom work you would be in the B class.

I read through the regulations just for kicks. I wouldn't pass 2 of the class B restrictions:

4.19.4.4 All suspensions (other than stock) must be mass produced kits that are readily available.

My front axle swap was 100% fabbed by yours truly. There's no axle swap kits for Rangers that I know of. Rear axle isn't swapped either. A kit wasn't really necessary for that though, just had to weld on new spring perches/shock tabs and run new brake lines.

4.21.4.1 Only mechanical transfer cases are permitted.

I've got a doubler. First case is mechanical, 2nd is electric. Assuming they're refering to the shift type that is.

Just some usless info.

There's a LOT of rules/regs. Not saying its a bad thing, just surprised me.

I want to say that you are reading into the rules to much. All these rules do is break stuff up into different categories. Your truck is nowhere near the Buggy's, Class A. You are also nowhere near Stock, Class C.

The big things you are worried about keep you in the middle. The rules state only mechanical t-case. Didn't you buy that doubler used from some cause you didn't want to wait any longer for yours to get built? My ford ranger was equipped with a electric t-case from the factory however Macgyver and Lwt002 still want me to run that truck to see how it'll do. Besides, i don't see a doubler providing you an advantage since everyone runs in 4HI.

As far as your front suspension and axle. When it comes down to it doesn't your truck still basically have a long arm suspension. Long arm is allowed in Class B and I believe the rules state you may have a different axle for this class as long as it came from an automobile.

They put these rules in place so people on tight budget like me can go get a beater and race the crap out of it with out breaking the bank. Its also a way to keep people that are spending money out of the poor peoples class. NO offense ment to anyone in C Class cause i'm prolly poorer than most.

There big thing is safety. Window nets, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers are the big things right now. You should join us Bray D. At least try it once. if you don't like quit early or baby it. I can tell you that with even loosing a spring, and having to ratchet strap it back in place and being able to finish was a pure blast. Wheelin is fun but racin is better

If I have any of this info wrong i'm sorry. Tell me and ill correct it. Kyle and Larry just want people to come out and have a good safe time. TREC it. C741 Bryan

Just double checked the rules. You are refering to 09 rules. You should review the 2010 rules here... http://psndealer.com/dealersite/images/badlandsoffroad/trec_2010_rules.pdf The suspension rule you refer to pertains to class c in the 2010 rules. As far as the t-case. I wouldnt worry about it.

Right on.

I'm gonna 'prerun' the whole course this weekend just to see how it is. If there were more technical crawling setions I'd be more apt to enter - that's what my truck is built for.

I've talked about it casually with one of my buddies, and we may enter the race in Oct just for shits. I hate to be the guy that enters just to do it, and not be competitive. I think if I run a slightly taller, stiffer front spring I could make the race doable.

We'll see how the rest of the summer pans out. Until then, I'll keep enjoying watching you guys beat the fawk out of your rigs :D
