Looks like Jeep with Dana 35c axle broke a C clip

Our last trip to the con we spent quite a while helping a tj guy with a grenaded 35c...never could fish out the scattered axle. We left a sami guy DEAD off the side of the trail. Why?? The Jeep guy was a friendly newbie in deep shit, the zuk guy was a cocky retard. Then one of our zuks got strapped by a toy. Basically I don't care about the rig, if the driver is resonably cool and needs help...ya gotta do it.

THAT's HARD CORE

I got a call friday night 8:00 pm (I had planned to go hunting at 4:00 am).
A guy in our club was stuck in a mud hole about 40 miles away.
Yes, in a jeep.
I went and pulled him out, after ripping his stock bumper off one side, he had already knocked a tire of the bead.
I hit the hole and got stuck just the same, laughed, winched out and went home.

The next time I need help, who do you think I'm calling.
Yeah, c-clip axles suck, but so do birfields.

YJROX pulled a zuk through part of Tellico this weekend.

BTW I slept in, left the house at 9:30, after 30 min trying to start my ATV an older gentleman in a Dodge truck pulled me to get it bump started.
Got into the woods about 11:30, killed a turkey with a blackpowder shotgun by 12:30.

So where sitting in traffic at near the base of Walker Hill and I spy a broken sami off to the side up the trail a ways. I walk over to the guy to see what they need. His buddy comes over and says all the need is a couple of batteries to do some welding...all of the front spring hangers (all 4) are coming off of the frame.

I am already annoyed because the odds of someone who takes their junk between trips having this much bad luck are pretty slim. The co-pilot then begins to brag how they noticed they where cracked last week, but they thought they would hold...but when they spent the night in the bowl taking "extreme lines" the hangers just werent up to their hardcore abuse. :rolleyes:


Despite his retardedness I'm about to round up some batteries and help these idiots...but then the co-pilot says that it'll be a while until their ready to weld...they need to finish replacing the clutch. WTF? So before I can ask the co-pilot tells me they knew the clutch was a gonner, they thought it would hold though....but when they spent the night in the bowl taking "extreme lines" the clutch just wasnt up to their hardcore abuse. :rolleyes:

Fortunately they brought a "spare" clutch and pressure plate. We didnt see eye to eye on the definition of "spare". So this guy ask if I mind hanging out a while til theyre ready to weld...I just turned around and left. :mad:

I would have done the very same thing! I was getting paid to get the people out of the woods with that Jeep ( I would have done it anyway). If they were dumb enought to tell me that shit I would have 1st called them a bunch of dumb ass's and the turned around and walked away!!!!
