: Got a free 60, or parts of it anyway. Junk?
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 12:38 PM I have a feeling I'm about to get flambe'd But WTF. Bud gave me a 60F? Looks like it's out of a late Dodge. Front on accident too the short side right off. Long side has the vaccum disco thing. Long side is fine, outer too. Diff's all there with 373's. It's HP driver side with coil mounts.
Worth dealing with? Or did I just pick up 100 lbs of scrap metal? (I'm thinking scrap metal, but it was free)
morpheus 10-18-2002, 12:41 PM are all the outer knuckle parts there ? even if the rest of it is junk and those parts are there you can sell the knuckle/spindle/hub/rotor/etc all seperately on eBay and get GOOD coin for it.

Scout Dude 10-18-2002, 12:41 PM Well, if you are going to scrap it, give it to me:D
You can retube it !
4Bangler 10-18-2002, 12:46 PM I'm betting that if the accident took the short tube off then the housing is pretty beat up, did you get the driver's side knuckle or anything with it? Or is all of that implanted into some Minivan?
Big heavy parts are cool, big heavy broken parts are cool too.
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 01:03 PM Hahaha... "big broken heavy parts are cool too" That's exactly why I took it! hahahahahahaa... WTF, why not. Even parts of front 60's are cool. hehehe.
Yeah, that's the bitch. NOTHING past the long side outer. No shafts, no brakes, no rotors, no knuckles.
Yes the short side is still in the ass of some minivan somewhere. It broke off right in the housing. But seriously, the housing looks tits. Very clean. I figure if someone wants to build a HP 60, it's a decent start. I need a pass side drop, so it's not too useful to me.
But... Why could'nt I make me a HP pass side drop? hmmmmmmmmmmm.... me likes this idea. :D
Anyone got Welderboy's number? :D
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 01:05 PM Are'nt 14 bolt tubes the same? Think I read that somewhere. Might just be time to start myself a hybrid project. :D
welndmn 10-18-2002, 01:10 PM Yeah, Get Dean to re-tube it for ya
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 01:23 PM Clean Dean? :D
Can someone give me a quick rundown on what I would need and how much it would cost to re-tube, shaft it, outers, rotors, spindles etc etc...?

Dodge did not have high pinions. But they are the only one with coils so sounds like it is a standard rotation.

Seriously, I may just be getting rid of it. I'll let you have dibs Mr. Dude. ;)
FULLSIZE 10-18-2002, 03:04 PM junk axle. part it out and have a few more $$$ for  . :D
Cajun 10-18-2002, 03:18 PM Knuckles, spindles, rotors, hubs, caliper brackets, and calipers aren't going to be cheap. Check e-Bay, there are a few on there right now.
randii 10-18-2002, 04:33 PM Jeff, I'm looking for some inner knuckle castings - the big C's that press onto the axle tubes and hold the outer knuckel assembly with either kingpins or ball joints.
If this is a kingpin axle, I'm interested in some of your parts...

Gozuki 10-18-2002, 05:43 PM I might buy it off you for a van project I have....:D
Gordon 10-18-2002, 07:16 PM I didn't know the new dodges were High pinion. Is it realy HP?
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 11:19 PM No, I was mistaken, it's not HP at all. Prolly the martini I had for lunch. Can you say fishbowl? :D
SC and looks like the only thing worth anything is the long side outer and the carrier. Randii, I'll prolly hack the one good tube off and you can have whatever's on the end of it. Who wants the bowling ball? :flipoff2:
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 11:28 PM Here's some pics I just went out in front, in my boxers. chilly:D "shrinkage!"
LOPPY 10-18-2002, 11:30 PM uno mas
randii 10-19-2002, 01:43 AM Crap.... I needed kingpin ends... 'tis no good for me.
Thanks, though -- betcha can find someone who'll want the carrier or at least gears, and you yourself oughta save the bearings and shims for the axle you know you'll eventually find...

fabricator 10-19-2002, 06:53 AM Any of you guys ever tackled a retube job on a 60, or know someone that has?
just wondering cause i just picked up a ford with some 60's in it.
The stuff is on the wrong side for the toyota. I kinda like the high pinion.

it has the bogus vacuum disco on it.
it's a ball-junk (joint) 60

I need hauled off....
--oh well,
