One of the most important safety items that should be in every off-road vehicle is a Fire Extinguisher. There's only one problem....mounting it. The last thing you want is to have your safety device become a dangerous projectile when you hit a bump, or roll your rig. The brackets that most extinguishers come with are really only good for hanging them on the wall at home. They just aren't designed for the kind of movement and bouncing our trucks see every time we hit the dirt. There are other companies out there that make mounts that dont fall off, but they are almost worse because they hold the bottle so well you cant actually get it loose quickly when needed. The only thing worse than having your fire extinguisher hit you in the head while you're driving, is not being able to get it out of it's mount when you need it. Our quick release brackets were designed specifically for harsh off-road racing use, and were thoroughly tested on our KOH race Jeep. The mount consists of 2 pieces that interlock. One side attaches to your fire extinguisher using hose clamps, and the other side attaches to your roll cage or other solid surface. Once installed your fire extinguisher becomes a part of the vehicle, and will not come loose, but when you need it you simply pull the pin and pivot it off of its mounting bracket. These are also great for all sorts of other things that you dont want coming loose, flashlights, tools, etc.

We Offer these brackets in 2 different sizes and in either weld on or bolt on versions. The small sized bracket is perfect for the smaller extinguishers commonly found in racing catalogs and auto parts stores, and that most of us already carry in our rigs. The large size bracket was build specifically to fit the larger 5lb bottles that many racers are starting to carry and can also be used to mount other accessories like a small CO2 tank. On the Large brackets we also offer the option of a spring loaded release pin that is welded in place for ease of use, and so that you never have to worry about losing the pin.

How much are the CO2 tank brackets?

That's just one of the large size brackets in the pic. For a CO2 tank I'd reccomend either bolting it in place, or welding it if you're gonna attach to a roll cage. The hose clamps hold the bottle very well, but on a tube the extra weight tends to make it wanna swing if you use hose clamps on that side. Not such a problem with the lighter weight fire extinguishers.

Finally got around to mounting a couple of these up on my Tow Rig / Chase truck. Have a 5lb extinguisher on the passenger side, and a 5lb Power tank on the Driver. Now I can pack as much shit into the bed as I want without the extinguisher getting buried.

Can one of the weld on ones handle a 10# Power Tank setup and what would the cost be?

Honestly I'm not sure as I've never tried one on there. I'm not sure that the hose clamps around the tank would be up to it, but the bracket would probably be fine. The vehicle side is 3/16" plate, and the tank side is 2 pieces of 1/8".

Large brackets start at $50 for the weld on version with standard pull pin (add $10 for bolt on, add $15 for spring pin)

How are your big brackets doing with just those hose clamps on c02 tanks with some abuse? Need something like this in my buggy but have to mount it sideways at an angle

I've had a 5lb Powertank on my car for at least 2 years now. Pre-ran KOH with it in my buggy last year, and ran 60+ miles of the EMC course this year with no problems at all. I do have mine mounted pretty close to vertical however.

Just wanted to update the original thread with all the new changes.

ALL of our mounts are now laser cut and zinc plated for corrosion resistance. We've been able to make these improvements thanks to all the orders we've gotten through pirate, so as a bonus we've also lowered the prices on all our mounts. :grinpimp: We've got a ton in stock now just waiting for your orders. Thanks everyone!
