I HAD one. They don't like water. I don't think they are worth the money either.

they dont like water anymore than any other starter?
NEW napa starters are about $209
refurbs are $149
so the green is only $40 more than a NEW starter.
is it a better starter or not?

I really like mine.
Works every time with clean engagement.
My son's luck was a horror story with starters before I restored everything so I didn't want that kind of pain ...:crybaby2:

I love mine, wouldn't dream of laying down $200+ on any other kind of starter.
I'll be getting another for my other Scout soon.:)

If you want the most powerful starter for you rig, get Mean Green. None of them are gonna live if you dunk them in silt filled water on a regular basis. It's not the water that hurts em, it's the crap and mud. Assuming you use it often.

I heard the best price is here. (http://www.mad4WD.com)

I love mine. Noticed a big difference on my "flooded carb" hill bumps.:D Faster starts on any day of the week compared to the old one. It was mind boggling how much smaller (read liter) is was to the old one yet still puts on a far superior performance.

I've had mine for a couple years now and it's great. Big benefit if you have starter overheating problems. The MG is much smaller and gives better clearance around headers and lets air in there. You still will probably need to use a remote solenoid with it though.
