Well, got the heep done in time to make my Moab run. Even brought the folks with me. We had a blast. Mom's tryin' to talk Dad into selling his classic vette and building a heep.

This one's my pop.

Did you have that xj up at carnage canyon, outside Boulder a few weeks ago? I saw one, that looked just like it drive by as I was changing a front axle in the playground area. Can't miss the yellow seats!

Man it was a frickin' nightmare gettin' that thing done in time. We were still finishing it up when I stopped in CO to do some horse trading with a buddy. If I had an enclosed trailer, I would've spent most of my time in it on the drive out. I actually bolted the seats and harnesses in about 1 hr. before we headed up Carnage. Busted a brake line off in back gettin' her off the trailer so we went through it with 3 brakes. No big deal, Carnage is flat and fairly easy. Blew the front locker and maybe the pass. side hub in Moab puttin' it back on the trailer. I think she's tellin me it's time for a new trailer:D

Tell your Dad to keep the classic Vette, and buy a Cruzah to compete with the heep! A father son kind of rivalry... ;) :skull:

If you say Carnage is flat and easy, you must have missed the "right" lines. Or you just ran the lefthand canyon trail!

Dude... you load your junk from the rear of the trailer, not up over the sides! :flipoff2:

That's cool as fawk taking your folks wheeling. I should try that next time they're in town.

Sean you didn't mention it wasn't you that broke the brake line, it was my dumb ass ripping the chain out like there was nothing in the way.
In the pics those don't look like the wheels I sold you, or the tires I put on 'em? Wha happened?
Also I shouldn't have taken my Heep down to Supercrawl to play- fawked it up good, endover ruined my 8274, fenders, hood, grill, radiator, windshield frame and windshield.
Must be time for another redo.

Hey Mr. Burn, it's all good. Those are the rims you sold me, I just painted them black. I can't stand white rims, they're almost as bad as chrome. Ya know I blew 2 beads out there, you must not have used your super snot bead sealer:mad: I heard about you bustin up your junk from the list. At least you didn't do it near the trailer of carnage :D

Selling the vette is an inside joke, that thing will be in our family forever. The folks are out on a vette cruise right now, last one of the season.

Oh yeah, Carnage IS easy, sorry to bust your bubble. And now that I have some real tires I don't have to go around the turn the next time I'm back out there.

Brad, we had a cherokee come in about 3-4 hrs. after your buddy blew his output and did the exact same thing to his 242. It blew the whole case though and he had to leave it on the trail. He then proceeded to drive to SLC the next day and picked up parts from Mr. Wood went back and fixed that evening. Last year the same guy rebuilt his stroker motor on the picnic table in front of his cabin at Slickrock CG:shaking:

thats funny. my buddy in that cherokee blew up his 231 last year near the start of the spike, so over the winter he swapped in an np235 and bronco dana 20, which is what broke. he just finished puttin in the HD32 spline output, so maybe next time he wont break at all. seeya--brad

No, not the rig, just the idea of mom on the trail. ;)
Although that is one of the few cherokee's I've ever seen on the trail that don't make me shake my head and wonder why you'd want to do that. Looks good. :D

i take my wife and three kids with me everywhere. but i have just started talking the inlaws around silverton colorado the past two years. i just load the cruiser up and hit it. i did take them up poughkipsie gulch the first time ever, just to feel them out. they did great, the kids love there company. and anyone who has wheeled that poart of the country knows of the beauty. but i am sure they would pass on moab, clayton and a few others. mike
