The rock jam is ON here in DuQuoin, IL! Currently we have Derek West, Brian Shirley, Levi Shirley, Thomas Grady, Shawn Fisher, and local Ben Evans here and ready to race.

Expecting high speeds, Levi has switched to 35's today. Father Alan Grady and 14 year old son Thomas have brought their brand new Trent Fab buggy out for a test run today after a multiple day thrash to get the car ready. Shawn Fisher's ride is looking sweet with new black skins and a new Jeep front clip. Derek West and Brian Shirley look to be running set ups similar to previous races lending more truth to the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Local Ben Evans in his 4runner trail rig will be starting the race lined up next to Derek West. Ben is dying to see if is new 383 stroker can keep pace with Derek off of the drag race style blacktop starting line (complete with light tree).

Derek West was checking out Brian and Levi Shirley's new ride - a Willy's based Rod complete with toyota axles, SBC they had laying around, kick ass air cleaner, excellent use of ammo cans, and of course new Maxxis treads.

Racers just completed a two lap pre-run. Levi hit our big downhill jump a little hot and busted a link mount. Shawn Fisher also had some minor damage but he says that he will have it fixed no problem. Brian shirley lost a front ring and pinion. Much carnage for practice laps!

Derek West and Shawn Fisher will face off in the final followed by Brian Shirley and Thomas Grady. Each pair will run two three lap heats, lowest total time for both heats takes home the cash!

Derek West wins! Brian Shirley 2nd, Shawn Fisher 3rd, Thomas Grady 4th. These guys put on an amazing show for the finals. Times were tight so there was lots of throttle, big air, and high speed attacks on the rock gardens.

We had a great time , things ran smooth,track was great & the 4 lap heat was very cool. Lots of coarse workers & registration people. A good mix of rocks ,jumps,grass and black top :eek:

First time on the track with a new car and Thomas' first time driving a full hydro steer car. Thomas did a good job, we still have a tuning issue with the motor, it just seems kinda down on power,(maybe a good thing for the first time behind the wheel on a new style car) The suspension worked damm good considering we really have not spent much time tuning the KING bypass. Everything else on the car work great. TRENT FAB builds bad ass cars ,that's for sure.

I agree with this 100%. That car will be a SERIOUS CONTENDER once you get the power up. The suspension works amazing.

The race was awesome. The course was a great with a mixture of grass, dirt, rock, and jumps :D. Cant wait for another great event next year!!!

I wasn't driving that car but the suspension was unbelievable. When you guys were landing off the big jump on the dirt side it made me think of throwing a marshmallow at a pillow. Thanks for bringing that thing out, we know you worked hard to get there.


For everyone else that has a trail rig, you really missed out. We thrashed hard on some stuff that was certainly not built to race and it was an absolute blast. It's not often you get to run what you brung on the same track that guy's like DWest, the Shirleys and Shawn Fisher were just running the day before.
