We've been to Gulches near Ware Shoals several times and also to Rice's Creek in Liberty. It's getting harder to find spots to wheel without them getting boring. Tellico is closed which quickly became a favorite of mine.

Traveler's Rest here - just north of Greenville.

Private parks = Gulches outside of Laurens & Pickens/Rice's Creek (is it still open?)

Some FS roads in GA and NC, not much in SC, but they are usually passable in 2WD.

Besides that you need to travel - URE, Golden Mountain (Sparta, TN), many others but none others nearby that I know of.

Have you got any more info on this place? I met Shupe at a private spot about two months ago in a green YJ with H2 wheels.

There are a couple of private spots around the area. Clemson 4 Wheel just had a poker run that was nice and had some good prizes. You should keep an eye on their website for other events.

We try to wheel as much as possible, I am in Pickens. Anybody been to Calliente yet, it is above Boone, NC???

Gulches 4th of July celebration on the 3rd of July. So here's the deal:

Wheel during the day

Lunch will be available at the usual time

And then we are going to host the First Ever Gulches Little Rubber Ducky Float Race.. Yes bring your favorite little rubber ducky (or any little floating thing - even a soda bottle with your name on it) place an identifying mark or name on it and after lunch we will race them from campsite 3 to campsite 1. Everyone will be permitted in the water to launch their float. Since you will need to drive your floaty down to the start area we are going to charge you a passenger fee for your floaty of $5.00. 100% of the floaty money will be split among the winners. Everyone will win something. There are some obstacles they will have to get through so bring your smartest rubber floaty ducky thingy.

After the race we all swim and get cooled off in the river. Then it's more off roading mixed with more swimming.

Later we'll fire up the grill and offer dinner.

And as always this is a great family time.

Then it's fire works time. We'll fire ours you can fire yours. and we'll try not to burn the place down.

When good and dark we'll ride till midnight.

I'm in upstate S.C. Near North Greenville College. If you find any good places to go over your way, p.m. me! I'd love to come ride. If you want to head east on Hwy 11 sometime, I'd be glad to take you to some of the local places we ride.

It's private property, but power lines do run across it. It's off of hwy. 11 under the shadow of Glassy Mountain. There's about 15-20 in our crew including Durham and Shupe. We ride at least once a week in several different places close by. Come on down! Also, I have been to Callalantee in Mountain City, TN twice. It's an awesome place to wheel. CarolinaK5.com is going to be there this weekend, but we're not going with them this time.

thanks! im pretty sure you havnt because its been sitting in my yard for 5 years. i actually got it registered and insured today and i decided i would drive it to senneca.... bad idea i got to wallmart and noticed it was acting very doggish (more than a normal 2.5) and by the time i got to the hospital i could smell what i thought was brake pads and i was right the drivers side caliper was stuck to the rotor so now i have to replace all the brake components yay!! and it was the day i finally got it registered
