I used Ballistic chevy tie rods, there threaded bungs and there tapered sleeves to flip the tie rod on top of the spindles. Tie rod is
made out of DOM 1.5 OD .250 wall. I made the steering shock mounts out of 2in cold rolled square stock. Powdered coated them clear. If I can buy it Ballistic is my 1st choice! Or I make it myself. http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae354/gearmind/9c47ee1e.jpg

This appears to have a part number stamped on it, what is it? Who makes it?

I believe the top plate was made by skyjacker. It was designed for the tie rod below the spindle arms. So when I flipped the tie rod on top I had to raise the center mount. So I used a 3in axle clamp by A&A manufacturing and
made side plates and welded it together. Then powder coated it.

Next time I might suggest the use of our Hex Tube Adapters. http://www.ballisticfabrication.com/78quot-18tpi-Hex-Tube-Adapter_p_1429.html

We don't seem to sell nearly as many of them as the round style but they give you a VERY nice wrench flat to hold with a cresent wrench to really tighten the Jam Nuts on the Tie Rod Ends.

None-the-less, very nice work.

Thanks Chad! I will be using them on my own build next time. My client wanted the round ends. Would it be possible to make the threaded bung round where it mates up with the tube so v notch is the same on both sides for welding, then the hex a 1/4 back from the weld?

I think a photo would help. This is a Hex Tube Adapter in the tube without a corresponding chamfer. Would these suffice without doing a custom Tube Adapter?
