Has any one ever looked at this kit?

http://www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com/floater.htm

I have a bunch of questions for the including if they can make the kit with the off set axle shafts for a cruiser.

I was wondering if anyone had done a coversion like this or if anyone was familiar with this specific kit? It seems very strait forward and easy. You could even use the 81 fj40 vented rotors and v6 truck calipers to allow the same four calipers all of the way around if you have done the mini truck disk brake conversion. Or use the set up they suggest and have a cliper e-brake. I'll let you know what I find out from these guys. The benefits of a full floater are intriguing.

I don't see how this could be any cheaper than Specter who has a boat load of FF for sale at $450.

If you are going to SOR for this, I would try to get a later 40 with 4 bolt backing plates vs the early 8 bolt type.

I'll second Rick D's recomendation for sure. I own two of the early style FF rears, nither is under a truck because of the difficulty of installing discs and an electrolocker(later axles can use factory shafts, early need custom ones fabbed....bummer.

I don't know if WARN still makes the conversion but I would give that consideration. The shafts are stronger than stock Toy FF shafts and you can yank the rear axle in a flash. Replacement shafts are reasonable and last time I called they had no reports of breakage. And if for some crazy reason you would want to run a hub (flat towing) they sell that too.

Warn no longer offers the FF kit for the Cruiser axle. The J**P version is the only one available. You may want call around and find a shop that has some old stock left but finding replacement parts would be a bitch. Good luck.
