Got a 350 that is running hot, I flushed the system and tore the front end down to verify valve timing...all looks good, have a edlebrock water pump and running a 5/8's orfice for t-stat...what else to check while its down...the rest looks good do far..at 8 btdc on advance at idle...though about pulling the intake gasket as when I spray propane directly in the port vacuum I get no increase in rev's...plugs are mixed between greyish and showing signs of excessive idle.....any other thoughts?

Collapsing hoses can make things hot.

You live in Arizona, of course it's running hot:flipoff2:
What radiator? When is it over heating- Freeway, idle? What fan- Electric, clutch, flex? We need more info...

Try washing the radiator out . If it is dusty outside you can get dirt and trash in the holes that go thur the radiator . This will cause you to over heat . I had the same thing with my truck when I would work on job sites when they were doing ground work and the dirt was flying .

8 times out of 10 it is lack of fan shroud. or not in the proper place. letting it pull air from every where except through the rad.
it is overheating because you have a cruiser. Mine has always over heated. 4-core radiator + Strong electric fan + heater on + freeway (or anywhere for that matter) = over heating. I am going to see if TBI will help fix it (timing + tune up). Good luck

Ya I've heard that before...that's why I'm going to tear it down and rework the shroud...I've seen Cruiser cool just fine so I know it can be done just not sure what step is next...
Thanks, Matt
