I got the 350 and NV4500 done. Now I need a bigger lift for 33"s? How about the RE 4.5 Extreme Duty? What do you think??

The engine looks good man. I wish I could afford to do that. As for the lift, I am running the RE 4.5 inch kit and it is probably the best spring under lift you can get but spring over is so much better. I would go that route if I was you. I am just waiting on finding some axles for my heep so I can go SOA.

Doc
I run the RE-4.5" as stated above very good springs if you want to stay SUA. I crawl a lot and have been very suprised at the gains in articulation.

That's what I run too. Great lift for a spring-under. Spring over is better for rock crawling, but there's not a whole lotta that to be had where I live and with a high HP V-8, it's nice not to have to worry about spring wrap. Sidehills great too.

FWIW, you can fit 35s no problem if you sneak some Conn Ferr +1.25 lift shackles and a 1-inch Daystar body lift under there with the RE 4.5 XD.

Jeep looks great. Very clean.

Could use some bigger tires tho... :flipoff2:

The engine swap looks good. Are you having any problems with the center hung float bowls on your Holley?

Spring over and use the RE 4.5 kit you have, and throw some full with axels under it. Thats what I did, and it works well.

Nice motor swap!

From looking at the bolt pattern on your wheels I assume you have the stock axles. Those things are running on borrowed time with that engine. I would look into an axle swap next.

Actually, he and another guy have been on JU today ranting about "wasting" thier money on upgrading axles and keeping thier Dana 35's. They seem to think that the Dana turdy five horror stories are just that, stories. I say let 'em figure it out the hard way.

keep the stock axles until they breaks... but start looking for some better one... but remember, when axles break, you need to tow it home, aint easy to get out of a trail with a broken axles... thats my .02 cent on axles
as for the lift, i run 35" with TerraFlex 4.5" (on a TJ tho) and ill swap back on 33" soon cuz i rub them alot. 33" and 4.5" lift should be plenty, i never tested the Rubicon express lifts but people who own them seems to like it. nice rig btw...

Purty engine. Can I have one?

I have the RE 4.5 ED, luv it. Good flex, nice on-road ride (for a Jeep). I have a 2" BL and could easily fit 35s (currently at 33").

Why did you get the boost guage? I didn't see a supercharger or a turbo. Looks really good man.

The way the electric fan is mounted to the radiator may tear it up. That is how mine was, it was really tearing it up, so I had to make brackets.

od you use this as a DD? I can't afford to have 2 cars. how does it drive on the road and highway?

RYSYJ

With the rockstomper draglink and tie rod I can do 70+ without a shake. But not sure if you want to use 38's for a DD. To expensive to run on the street in my opinion. Definatly would think twice if you want to do this on a DD. Get a beater car, then go big.

My holley Card works just fine. I do not plan on running the engine upside down. :flipoff: Set the fuel bowl a tish low and you will not have trouble. ;)

The boost guage is my vaccuum guage. I like the way it looks. I have a big cam so I needed to run a vacuum resivor which the boost guage monitors. You know power brakes need vacuum.

Also I have a new ford 8.8 in my garage. I am outa cash and will be putting it in sometime in the future. :massey:

Sure, as long as you only drive on a billiard table all day long.

You should learn the difference between :flipoff: and :flipoff2: Newbie...

I think you ought to stay over at JU. They seem to like you over there. :flipoff2:

I have the RE4.5 as well, In hindsight, I would rather be spring-over for more flex, but that is a lot more work than simply a bolt on SUA lift. If I ever get some bigger axles, I'll go SOA at the same time.
