: Thanks! Tellico Mishap
RockJeep 10-21-2002, 10:14 AM I'd just like to publically thank Brian(squirreli) and his friend Chuck for getting my jeep off the top of School Bus hill. They worked their butt's off to get my jeep out of there untill 5:30am that morning. It was amazing to me and my dad how two guys we just met would go through all the trouble they did to help out a stranger to them. they're "true 4wheelers" and I hope to one day repay the favor.
thanks again guys,
Bob
p.s. what i broke:
bent both rear springs like S's fuel pump went out, carb went out, fuel tank leaked, dana 60 leaks, broke rear joint and yoke, t18 is leaking out of input shaft, pwr steering pump is leaking, battery's dead, think the steering column or steering box may be tweaked/damaged, and calipers need lot mor grinding.
FreakAccident 10-21-2002, 10:25 AM You broke all that shit on the trail? One more reason I'm glad I have a Yota. :flipoff2: Hope you fix it all soon.
yager 10-21-2002, 10:37 AM The question is..... was all this stuff leaking before hand? Or just started after a good tellico pounding.... :flipoff2:

bigdude 10-21-2002, 10:41 AM Another example of the theory that you SHOULD ALWAYS TEST STUFF THOROUGHLY WHEN YOU ARE CLOSE TO HOME/TRAILER.
Sorry about your luck, schoolbus can be a bitch when wet. I'm assuming you made the corner and broke on the ledges?
RockJeep 10-21-2002, 10:43 AM rear joint, yoke, and springs went due to axle wrap. t18, and d60 weren't leaking before. gas tank leaked out of the damn gas filler. so i'm either gonna fix that somehow or get one of those summit 16 gallong aluminum fuel cells. We think the carb just has some trash in it cause the needles want stop feeding it gas, thus it would run really rich when it did run then stop cause the cylinders were full of fuel(i.e. similiar to hydrolocking the motor.) Jeep ran up to top of school bus fine then at the tight left turn at the top the engine started with all the problems mentioned.

You didn't even make it to the hard part :flipoff2:
RockJeep 10-21-2002, 10:53 AM I did test locally before going but couldn't have known the fuel pump was going to go out on me, the broke joint, springs, and what not are not what kept me from driving back down. The engine not running is what did that. at the hard left turn is where the engine stopped running, winched over that turn got it running, (fuel was gravity feeding when it got level) ran up and over that ledge(did make it pinkdude) then up further the mnt towards another small ledge where the joint spit out the rear and the edge that holds the caps in on the yoke broke and the straps twisted.
patooyee 10-21-2002, 11:14 AM Jesus, bobby! WTF did you do?!?!?!? IM me for pete's sake!

350 Samurai 10-21-2002, 01:49 PM Damn Bobby I didn't know all that was broken. All I knew about was the fuel problem and you were going to take the fuel pump off that other jeep and replace it.
I feel bad about leaving now.

350, he left you....
I was at the top when he finally made it.. He was looking for the fastest way out. His jeep really didn't look like anything was wrong. The rear leaf was bent, but, boo hoo. He said it was the filter in the carb...
Funny, but I met you and David in Mont Eagle Memorial Day weekend on Stagecoach, when y'all were taking a steering box down for the Chevy.
We pulled over on the trail to let you go by. I told David he looked familiar and after a few.. Did you go here's ???
we figured it out.
Your "Sami" sure is nice.
Anyway, nice weekend. Weather and all...
Ricky...seeya...

Thats funny because the red truck and the guy in the camo truck were the same guys that I was with in Monteagle (the red truck is the one that lost his steering box), and that is the first time either of them have been wheeling since Monteagle.
The weather in Monteagle that weekend was about as nice as Tellico this weekend.
