: Emisions Failure quick!!!!!!

I have to get my 90 sammy to pass by wednesday!!!! I took it in to the sniffer today and it was high on Hydro Carbons. What can I do to fix it!!!

get the motor hot and add rubbing alchole (spelling) into the gastank before going to have the motor smogged

Use half a gallon of methyl hydrate and less then a half tank of gas, as soon as you pass - GO FILL YOUR TANK or you'll kill it !

Pardon me for sounding dumb but, if it doesn't pass emissions that means something ain't working right. High HC usually is a sign of poor tune or running rich. Maybe it needs an O2 sesnor? Has it been tuned up recently? Check timing? CHeck fuel pressure? Even doing an oil change can help HC's. Being a 90 it's EFI (is it still) My 93 Tracker 1.6 passes MA state emissions with a hollow cat. I'd go thru the basics first before dumping some 'snake oil' in your gas tank.

Some ppl dont have time or money to deal with the basics a day before an emission test, so rather than goin thru the 'basics', make it pass so one can make it to work thursday, then worry about "the cause"

Well i didn't thinkk there was a chance in hell but I was able to get 10,000 lbs tags which is emisions exempt. whew! i hope they never realize the gvw is less than 3000lbs LOL:flipoff2: :D

Kool, that means ur legal to tow 2 zooks on a 24 ft trailer ! :eek:
