Has anybody here ever done that conversion before? To completely ditch the t-bars and replace with coil springs...without doing a sas swap? I'm sick of my shitty ride quality and coil just seem so much nicer:D If you've done it, speak your mind. If you know somebody that has done it, speak your mind. If you don't know shit well idk. Anyways I need answers!

You could prolly do coilovers as theres a few kits out there for Ford ranger pickups that swap out the T ar for coilovers just seems like a waste of cash to me though.

It can be done, but why? The nissan IFS blows. It has very short arms, thus not a lot of travel. You could SAS it for the same price AND have it ride nicer. With leafs, my pathy rides better than it did with a 4" lift.

The reason why I ask is because I don't rock crawl, usually only play in the mud. Would it be hard to do a SAS? I'm somewhat new to the 4x4 world. What all do I need to do to do it? How much?

If you don't rock crawl, there is no reason for a SAS IMO. Save your cash and do as much suspension lift and body lift as you can to fit some big tires if you like the mud.

A SAS is going to run you $1000 minimum if you do ALL work yourself, souce JY parts and don't uprgrade whatever axle you use.

Figured I should do that. I'm running 31's right now, hopefully a 3" lift would cover enough to fit 33's.

Yes. 3" suspension lift will allow for 33" tires. :)

Another question for anybody that has ever used Calmini products. I've got Calmini Upper Control Arms for my truck and since I bought them used they didn't come with ball joints. Can I get stock replacements ones or do I have to get Calmini brand ball joints? Either way it doesn't matter but I just need somebody's 2Cents.

Even for playing in the mud the control arms and crossmembers will drag more than a solid axle you wont gain any ground clearence and you could do an SAS for cheaper than $1000 if you are thrifty as you can buy D44s pretty damn cheap all day long b/c no one wants them. I bought a D44 3/4 ton and D60 rear for $150 for a previous project and did a SAS on a Ford Ranger for about $300 counting welding wire and gas for my torch.

You reuse the stock ball joints.
