I did Sidewinder & Bronco Peak yesterday & decided to take Gunslinger out of the Peak to check out the new (911A) trail & & & & & & since I was running solo not chancing any trouble on the connector. I pull into Corral Canyon camp to air up & go over the new stuff I installed over the last 3 week. Needless to say things held up pretty good . Better yet the alignment Pepboys couldn't get aligned right with ALL NEW steering system ball joints, currie heavy duty tie rod & leaf springs. :smokin: I put back in align yesterday using the rock hop slap twist method.
Anyway, I get finished with the check list & I see some guys who rolled on the B. Connector taking a boulder thru the windshield.
They took it on solo on looked like 31's or 32's, no winch & no other rigs. In a Grand Cherokee.. :cookie:
At least you guys walked away & hope you did drive it back into San Diego like that. It would have been worth it to see peps drive by & there expression

i'm guessing those guys are the ones who completely ruined the gatekeeper on 3a connector as well as paving all the good spots on the trail? not blaming you but making a statement to anyone who might not have a clue- stacking rocks is understandable. we've all had to do it and once in a while it's much better to stack a rock or 2 than to break your junk trying to get it. BUT- the shit i saw this morning was uncalled for. this is the worst i've seen that trail. someone must have spent hours and hours moving every fucking rock on the trail to take it from a 3+ trail to a 1 trail. let's not make the only good trail a fire road when there's already miles of fire roads out there.:homer:

No stacking from me Saturday & must have gone thru Bronco before them. I guess next run I will be unstacking sections. I did it last year in a few spots.
BTW- anyone have any idea how you bend the tip of a rear leaf spring on the eye :lmao: I have been staring at it all day wondering how the hell I bent a new leaf right there.

If you've read the other thread in this section, you know how i feel about this whole rock stacking situation; I'm not for it:flipoff2: These trails are not even that hard, some good spotting could have gotten most rigs on 33's throught it w/out any rock stacking. If and by so I mean if you need to do some stacking, is it so hard to undo what you created?!:mad3:
This shit I saw today was beyond the indecencies of my vocabulary, so if it was you who paved the new highway: :flipoff:

There is no way those boneheads are on this site..:mad3: I hope their backs hurt for a month, hands are torn up, broken fingers, twisted ankles, shit their pants once or twice and at home with montezuma's revenge from bad tuna fish sandwichs. :barf::barf: As for the vehicle... broken axle, ring gear stripped, two flat tires, clutch fried and a hole in the oil pan....
Just Kidding Fawkers :flipoff2: Haha don't come back

i have seen tones of leafs bend right there. (depending on if it was the shackle side or the frame mount side) the shackle side bends when guys roll backwards and hit the shackle on a rock (bamskie, bent spring) and for the frame side pretty much the same thing as the other side but you have to have had the shackle pinned against a rock and tried to back up, or just smacked it hard enough that one of the two sides of the spring had to give. hope this solves your staring problem...:smokin:
