I'm looking for a list of leaf spring manufacturers for rovers of any year, also who has info on parabolic spring manufacturers?

my rocky mountain 2 leafers list to one side, even after the springs have been swapped side to side.

How much lift?

A spring over is pretty easy if you are good at fabricating, the only real problem is the driveline and steering angles, and those aren't that difficult to fix. I've had my 109 sprung over for a year now, about 15K miles, and it's great. Smoother than Paras, better flex too, only downside is the higher CG and the spring wrap. Oh yeah, a swb would need a CV rear driveshaft for sure. Mine gets away without one.

I got about 6" out of it. De-arched stock rover springs. Custom shock mounts for 5225's.

9V can comment on the setup...

what I need is a list of manufacturers, I don't really care about how much lift, just who makes stuff for rovers.
I assume old man emu does, is that true?
but who else?

Helliwig, Rocky Mountain Parabolic and I am sure there are others. Helliwig gets a good rap. I would check simonites, and other uk sites.

My apologies. It is Hellwig. Sory fer da spellin. Find them here:
http://www.hellwigproducts.com/

Rocky Mountain is here:

http://www.parabolicsprings.com/

I have used Hellwig on towing and other specialty rigs I helped with and have had great results. Lots of extra load people love them.

As for Parabolics, I here lots of good press, but that's it. My coiler only rides like a leafer. They are supposed to give the same result as putting stiffer springs on a pre-sway coiler. Stability while still flexing.

Both firestone and goodyear make helper bags for existing springs. Alcan makes killer springs, I would imagine that they could come up with some Rover ones, if you provided the weights and weight balance front to rear.

Alcan's are expensive, and my friend has them on his toy. Unbelievable flex though. (for a leafer).

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Oh, and if "your" truck lists to one side Adam, after swapping in known good springs, you might want to check frame alignment or outriggers for plumb. Just a hint.

Hello Fred

TI Console (http://www.ticonsole.nl/parts/springs/parabool.htm) parabolics are the way to go mate.

You get a good choice of spring rates

A parabolic taper to the leaves (nice eaven flex)

Nylon anti friction blocks on the only point where the leaves actually slide over each other (almost zero internal friction in the pack)

If you ask nicely you can even get them with an inch or more of lift

Bill Davis at GBR (http://www.greatbasinrovers.com/) stocks them.

If he hasnt got any in stock I can supply them (yes I know that makes me a bit bias)

Oh yes and did I mention they flex like mad!

TTrovers

Did you get board over on LRE mate?

Nothing wrong with pretty blue springs. Have some off me and for a small fee I will arrange for them to be a different colour for you. :flipoff2:

um, dude, this is MY truck, 100% funded by me, i was going to take pics last night but it gets dark so soon now that i couldnt. i will be today.

see my post "picking up new truck tomorrow".

and i think that it is just the fact that it has duel fuel tanks and that there could me more fuel in the one on the drivers side, plus fat asses like mine and the PO's jumping in and out of the truck all the time.

and i am well aware that the alignment may be bad, but i am not worrying about it since it will need a new frame in a few years anyways, and then it is going to coils.

will take pics today.
