Hey everyone! I was hoping that someone could inform me on where the Dry River Run off-road trail of the George Washington National Forest is located.

This past weekend we traveled down to Todd Lake in GWNF, from Southern MD, with plans to do some off-roading in GWNF. After seeing some YouTube videos and visiting the GWNF website I determined that the muddy areas of trails and the river crossing must've been on Peters Mills Run, near Edinburg, Va. Well, we made it back up North to Peters Mill Run the second day of camping, and it turned out to be nothing but a dry, rocky trail.

After going back to Youtube I've determined that this area that I was hoping to visit was actually called Dry River Run, where there is a shallow river/stream to cross and some mud as well. I'm searching all over and can't seem to locate where this Dry River Run area is. Does anyone know where this place is? What city and state, how to get there, etc??

Here are some videos from the area if this helps:

Much thanks,

Dry River Run is a closed trail.
You are no longer allowed to wheel there.
They closed it not to long ago and you can not even get to it anymore they have blocked the entrances off.
They have closed alot of trails in GWNF.
IMHO it is a waste to go there if you want to wheel.
It is good for camping with the family that is about it.

As a responsible off roader and avid fly fisherman I'll say it was about time that Dry river was closed. It is in fact not part of the GWNF but owned by the city of Harrisonburg.
The level of abuse by locals and out of towners alike was getting pretty bad. If people had stayed on the trails it wouldn't have been so bad.
Seeing these assholes driving up the river was getting old.
If you want to do some off roading in the area try Dictum ridge and Second mountain.
We (SV4W) are working with the forest service to make these trails more challenging and interesting to ride on.
