Are those 44s on the Rock Taxi? If so, they look small for some reason.

so how did this thing perform? I saw it at disney before and it was obviously well built, but wasnt to sure about the design.
Insayn 10-31-2002, 05:33 PM Sunray Engineering has been using that design for a few years now. Seems to hold up well.

It seemed to work ok, but I think Dave (the owner) was not used to it yet. It was also so cherry that I think he did not want to tear it up so he kind of took it easy on it.

You guys really did well on a swamper in farmington?
Was that in chokecherry or at the garden? I've wheeled there for years and takes some getting used to, it sure is fun when you get the hang of it.
Where do you normally wheel?

This is the Waggoner Machine Shop group, Texas Auto Gear and The Blacksheep......
All of us generally do most of our wheeling in Oklahoma...Poteau, Clayton and Disney.
I watched you guys do ProRock in Aztec last year on the way out to Moab and Robbins was running those monster 44's and bitching about you running those "Gooey BFG's"
Lance Morin 11-01-2002, 06:23 AM Tracy, one of the Black Sheep rigs is a 'little' yellow CJ that you showed around in the Pheonix area a few years back. He was on 35 SSRs then and had a beat to hell white YJ with him. At the time, I think you were scouting the Asylum trail. (or something new). The forced articulation idea is still in his head. We'll see if if ever comes live on that little CJ now sporting a 60 front / 70 rear and 44" TSLs with hydraulic steering.

Hey guys hows it going? That Disney run was pretty cool, I'll always remember getting told to back home with those short tires cause they wouldn't work. I had a great time out there, would love to go back. So how did the swamp do out there in farmington, thats were that short radial works best.
You guys have awsome rigs for the wheeln you do.
Tiberian 11-01-2002, 01:00 PM The trip was a blast. I can't wait to hook up with the WMS guys again.
By the way Yeller - I promise not to run into the back of your rig again.
Steven

That is the link that keeps it all centered...like the V link that normally runs to the rear. This design keeps all the links out of the way of reverse steering and oil pans and such.
Here is the same thing on a Sunray rig, they have been doing it for years.
GloNDark 11-01-2002, 02:02 PM whoooooa very cool. Thanks Nolen. I was looking at the pic saying WTF is that?? :D:D
billyji 11-01-2002, 02:08 PM Steve
it was good to meet you and your wife. what a great group you guys have.....

Mike G
billyji 11-01-2002, 02:18 PM Some of those sunray boys use it as a self contained ramp also
LOL LOL LOL
Mike
YELLER BLAZER 11-01-2002, 03:31 PM billyji it was great to meet you also looking forward to our next meeting.
As far as the suspention on the above jeep it is completly swung from the front is is essentially a triangulated 3 link with a wish bone that swings from the front. It seems to work very well and it really cush on fire roads the bigest draw back that I have seen is the wheel base changes about 8" from suff to droop. which has advantages and disadvanges but it works! If you have questions PM me and I'll put you in contact with Dave @ Davco he designed it and built it, 1st class guy.
TablerockToy 11-02-2002, 10:31 AM Hey Steve, I was looking at the black sheep website and on the first page of pics in the top right hand corner is a group photo of the rigs, I was wondering if anyone had some info and pics of the white toyota truck in that photo. And if im not working Ill see ya on the 14th for the clean up!
Chris
Rock Taxi 11-02-2002, 10:34 AM We don't have any added pics, but it had 44" bogger, front 60, rear 14 bolt, and a 350. It was a pretty darn sweet ride and worked well.
Ed
billyji 11-02-2002, 03:06 PM Hey Chris

Lance
