Whats up guys,

I am moving to Wyoming in mid-August for a new job. Anyways, I just bought my brother 98 Taco and plan on doing some stuff to it. Mainly a flat bed conversion, small lift, and wheels and tires. Just introducing myself. Lookin forward to the move.

Well I have two job offers. One in Rawlins and one in Cheyenne. I am flying in Wednesday night and have 5 days to meet with both employers and check each area out. Some people say Rawlins sucks, others say it is ok. The job in Rawlins pays 14k more a year sooooo yea. Anyways, hoping to make some new friends. Thanks for the welcome.

Rawlins is a little sparse compaired to other towns. Most people out that way come to laramie, or casper for shopping etc.
I am in Laramie. There is many great trails in Colorado.

Thanks projectAviator. I am not looking for much. I set out to find a job in the state so I could establish myself as a resident, and then pursue a masters at UW for the highly reduced resident tuition rate. Luckily I got two job offers that pay well. I just finished my BS in Geology here in NC.

Well, Rawlins and Cheyenne are both about the same distance from Laramie. Cheyenne is probably closer to the Colorado trails. Not much in Rawlins area, other than its about 2 hours closer to Moab.

Rawlins also has the breathtaking view of miles and miles of sagebrush.

For 14k more a year, it might be worth living in Rawlins...might!

LOL, I am not expecting much. I should know more by the end of next week. Either job I will be working 12-14 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week, so it's not like I will have a ton of free time.

Well UW will charge you out of state tuition for years even after establishing residency. My oldest son went to UW and knew a few students UW did it too. UW is the only school my son found who never shows you tuition until after you register.

Rawlins isn't bad it's not that far from a couple different mountain ranges and a good sized lake. There are some trails around but nothing to hard, more snow than anything. Which company offered you a job, I work for the refinery and they pay pretty good.

I don't know about all that, a good friend of mine did the approach I am doing, and he gets in state tuition. Alot of people think if you are out of state student, and you attend a university for a year, you become a resident after a year. The guidelines are pretty clear, be in the state continuously one year with primary reason NOT as a student, be employed full time in the state, register a vehicle, get a license, etc.
