I have a dana 60 front 35 spline out of a 78' Ford. I have done lots of searches and read all of them I could find. I have also called some axle companies. What I want to know is what inner shafts do not neck down. Is there a stock spicer shaft that fits that doesn't neck down? I have seen some PN for Chevy and Dodge but I can't find anything for the Ford. I think I read of some people who said they had them but no info on where to get them. I talked to Dutchman and they said nobody even made a shaft that didn't neck down. So is there or is there not a inner shaft that doesn't neck down? I would like PN please. I would prefer if I could use spicer shafts. Any info would help. Also I know that warn has a hub you can use with 35 spline outers but I can't find the PN anyone know it?

OK, are you sure you searched? Did you call your local Spicer dealer? :flipoff2:

My front 60 came out of a '79 F-250 and here is what I was able to round up for it, yours SHOULD be the same but, I would get the BOM and verify. If you order new from Spicer you will get the inner shafts that don't neck down!

Right inner shaft #660182-10
Left inner shaft #660182-11
Outer stubs (30 spline) #620085
U-joint #5-332-X

Moser is now making alloy stubs in both 30 and 35 spline and also alloy inner shafts. Dyna-Trac makes 35 spline alloy outers and so does Wagoner Machine.

You can use Dana 70 outer stubs (1.5" 35 spline) for GM or Dodge and cut them down by about .600" and cut a new groove for the snap ring.

Can't help with the part # for the Warn hubs but any local 4X4 shop will have it and be able to round them up for ya! :D

Thanks, that is just what I needed. I thought the guys at Dutchman were off, and in this small town nobody could look anything up for me that wasn't a direct application. As far as the local 4x4 shop being able to give me the PN for the hubs Yeah Right! You visit it and you will know what I mean. I did get the part # for the warn hubs from Steve Gerstner- #38786- incase anyone else needs it.

just outa curiosity, what year did the D60 go from 30spline to 35spline??

TTBOMK the inner shafts of the front RR 60's were all 35 spline. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I know exactly what you mean. I have almost dealt with them a few times, but everytime I am serious about getting stuff they tend to not care. Anyways they are way overpriced also. :flipoff2:
