Yea, yea I know the name sucks.
I just got a '95 YJ and am wanting to SOA it and add more lift on top of that to run 36's on 3/4 ton gear.
Does anyone have experience with Arizona Drivelines? Should I go with someone else?
Reading another post makes me weary of AD

Call Jess at High Angle, do a search and you'll see why;)

AZ Drivelines was really good when my CV needed to be re-built. A 3 hour turn around. If there wasnt a local drive-line shop, I would definatly use Jess at High Angle Driveline, just cause of all of the stuff I read on here.

I know several people who have used AZDL and were not satisfied. Sloppy welds, vibrations, warranty problems, and work charged but not done in at *least* one case (as explained to me based on what I saw). So, I won't use them, and I'm about 10 minutes or less from them. I will send ALL my work to Jess, no question...

You're in Baton Rouge? Why don't you just go by the Dana Spicer Driveline shop on Airline or go by Lightline & see who they recommend. That guy will build you whatever you need. Last time I was in there he talked my dam ears off about ujoints & driveshafts. I know he does a lot of stuff for those big Cane trucks, huge driveshafts & ujoints.

AZ Drivelines this week and Gloeco next week...save your money and get it from Jess...They wouldn't honor my warranty long travel when it broke the driveshaft broke due to overtravel and they measured...said I jumped it...they won't see me again...

We used Arizona Drivelines. We had a 100% failure rate on their high angle C.V.s that we installed for customers. We have lost thousands of dollars in warranty repairs to damaged vehicles and transfer cases. One exploded on the freeway with no warning and came through the floor of a customers Jeep. He was very lucky. It broke the driver's seat frame. I just had my front explode Saturday. The weld failed at the yoke. It had been rebuilt twice prior inside of 100 miles due to the center trunion bearings failing, the last time was last thursday. Being custom, there was no warranty. I had about $800.00 total invested in the front driveshaft and it is now totally junk. If you own an Arizona driveline driveshaft, especially with a high angle C.V., I would recomend replacing it immediately with something else.

Sloppy shitty work. Among other problems. Used u-joits painted over that were supose to be new. And complete double talk and bullshit from them. They also made me a yoke. Spun the weld on it 3 weeks later. Welded it myself. Has yet to break.

I have one of HighAngles and unfortunatley one of Arizona's. I'll be winning one from Jess soon so I'm not worried. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I had AZ shafts on my last rig. It was the long spline with 1310 CVs in both. I broke the CV just like jags.

At the time, he had hired a guy to answer the phone and do his PR work. I got lucky and called during this guys short stay ( he was fired for doing to much warranty work) and had it fixed, although the owner called me at home and tried to blame my for what happened.

When I told him it was in a Samurai and I should not be able to tear it up, he didn't have much more to say.

I found out that the reason that it failed was because he used a CV for some other application and filled in the holes in the flange somehow and redrilled them to fit the Samurai. Whatever he had filled the holes with had actually come out and the new holes broke into the old holes and all hell broke loose then.

Bottom line is...go with Jesse.

I guess I should have been more specific. My new Samurai has 1410 joints in it. The 1310 shafts from Arizona Driveline were in this vehicle, with 2.0L 4-banger and 35's.

I bought both of my shafts from AZ....Actually they are really nice!

High angle 41* toy CV's on both with 1310's on the lower ends, Long travel splines.
Didnt know about Jess when I did this, but these have held up awesome! So I have been extremely happy with these.

If I had to do it again......Id give my business to Jess, just cause he is the local guy and he rocks:D

I bought @ AZdriveline because they were local. I have managed to destroy a front and rear driveline from them. On the rear one (CV) the welds broke before the stock Samurai u-joint  Pure crap. I won't buy another one there.

I bought a set of driveshafts from AZ.. rear blew up on the way to the first trail (and they wouldn't warranty it, same expierience with Dick's shafts)...then I saw the light and ordered from Jess, still going strong almost 2 years later...

I called AZ drivelines to check a price on an SYE and CV shaft, when my jeep was down for the tranny swap a while back, and I was asking normal questions, such as what the wall thickness of the shaft would be, and what brand u joints they use, and they couldnt seem to find the answers. I think I had confused them. They made this obvious, so I hung up, and called Jess. I couldn't be happier. We must have BS'ed for about an hour before I even got around to actually ordIering it. I also told him my yj was my daily driver, and I was on a limited budget, and needed the jeep back on the road asap.. well.. he said he'd do what he could, and I saw the driveshaft and SYE kit... get this..... THE NEXT DAY!
:D Hows that for service!

Is there a place in Phoenix that does decent work? I went to Mesa Driveshaft (or drivelines or whatever) and they quoted me $170 to put a Toyota flange on and lengthen it 3". Screw that. I can hit up a junkyard or something I'm sure and find a flange, but where can I go to get a rear shaft lenthened and balanced for a decent price?

I have tried all the local drive line shops. Not one of them builds a decent drive line in my opinion.

Tom Wood supports our sport really. I saw him at the Supercrawl, fixing all broken shafts and yokes for f r e e regardless where they bought the shaft. A good man on the place where he was needed.

Been a while since I've shopped local Phoenix for drivelines but I can tell you this from past experience.....

Dick's...have had good luck with normal driveshafts from them. Dunno about rock crawler shafts.

Meas Driveshaft.....doesn't like doing anything custom, last I checked. I had a weld shear on one of their shafts (and they laughed at one of my homebrew ones....it never failed)

AZ Drivelines....I had a weld failure on a front they made for me. Oscar rebuilt it better, no questions asked.

Next time I need a shaft I will try Jess.

Looks like you guys saved me a big headache. I was planning to go with AZ driveline because it's local, but now I know better. Thanks.:p

Got a shaft there, used it on the road for 3 months went on a very mild offroad trip, twisted the splines, called them and they bassically said "Ya, thaose splines are a problem we have had, good for you, click"
