I am pretty sure green sticker is ok but Randii can confirm.

The best/safest tow rig parking is at the Cisco Campground. They do charge per day of use but it's worth it. The other option is at the Eagle Lakes staging area. That is right at the trail head but your tow rigs are more susceptible to theft. It is a no fee area.

Rainfly has it right on all accounts -- green-sticker rigs are welcome at Sierra Trek and parking is as described. The only thing I'd add would be that you might consider registering for the River Run on Saturday, as you could trailer right into Meadow Lake base camp, and unload there... the River Run is down-and-back on Saturday. The only downside to this is that you don't get to run the whole trail from Indian Springs to Meadow Lake.

I hope to see you at Trek!

I have ran a green sticker rig the last few years. I'm going to be helping this year with the river run. The river run should be lots of fun. You will not run winch Hills 1 or 2, but you will run WH 3,4,and 5 both uphill and down. If you have to run the full trail, I would park at Cisco and not at Indian Springs. I hope to see you there.

Not only green sticker but new tire rules thanks to Randy!

Speaking of green sticker, keep in mind that if the preferred alternative for the TNF plan is passed Rattlesnake Road up to the turn to Fordyce Lake and then to the lake will be green sticker legal! Technicially it never was. Past the Fordyce Lake turn will still be street registered only and do not speed on the green sticker portion or this change may disappear!! This change, while commented on by the public was very much the idea of the forest service. Another difference from other forest plans is that under that same alternative the portion of the Fordyce trail up to the 1st water crossing will be open year round. No restriction as to over the snow travel.

First, my .02 on the parking: Park at the campground. We parked 3 tow rigs at the Eagle Lakes area and it sucked. One truck got broken and lost a lot of really nice stuff, had no radio for a 6 hour tow home, and a broken window.

On the green sticker question: Not really sure what areas you guys are talking about, starting from the eagle lakes staging area, you can get all the way to the Cisco camp ground legally, correct?

Thanks.

Yes if you drive all the way over the top of signal peak. If you take the trail out of Cisco you still risk driving some road on the Eagle Lakes side. If anyone in your group has a street legal rig you could drop all the green sticker rigs at Indian Springs and drive all the tow rigs to Cisco, then the street legal rig can drive everyone back to Indian Springs

thats what we do.:D it sucks but sometimes we even have to walk back to Cisco if we dont have a street legal rig on the run.

Ok, thanks. After getting a truck broken into at eagle lakes, that is the plan for next time FOR SURE. I think the walk is only a mile if that is the way it goes, right?
