Anybody know of some online catalogs for different manufacturers ujoints? i.e. spicer, neapco, napa/autozone/advance brands? i'm tired of depending on the idiots at the counter not knowing what a dana spicer 1310 u joint is.
thanks

well to be honest... .... there is a good reason why they don't know..... few folks at the parts house know there Ujoint #'s as used on the pirate and other places.. I work at Autozone and the only way to know what a 1310 u joint is to know what one came off of..... They have catologs at all Autozones with Ujoints listed in there then that number will be saved in the computer for later referance.....

well when i give the local guys the vehicle info. they still get the wrong part #. and none of them know how to use a book. So rather going in and having to wade thru the books there. I'd rather have my numbers before i go in. Plus it'd be nice to have a conversion chart for different brands. That way when i'm stuck at some other store i can tell them their part number. Also i need part numbers for conversion joints like 1310-1330 and 1310-1350

I hear ya there. Took me nearly an hour to get a strap kit for a 1310 at a local parts store. told him the make, model, year (then threw him cuz I told him that axle was now under an 86 Toyota 4runner now :D) That wasn't enough info. He had to know if had power steering, and AC or something to

If you have a Inland Truck Parts (http://www.inlandtruck.com/) near you, just go there and get real spicer parts and a spare or two while you are at it. This is by far the best bet for my area as far as knowledge and prices.

I just went through the process of trying to find some actual Spicer joints. None of the parts stores had them and some didn't even understand the term Spicer. I ended trying a big rig shop that carried Spicer parts for semis. Sure enough they had the joints that I needed and were only $15 each.
