First off, this is my first post, so hello, I'm RandyAM

I got a 1990 Isuzu Trooper with a 2.8L GM motor in it.

I was driving home one night, and my trans was slipping, so i checked my transmission, and found the fluid to be low. so i added some, checked it, it was a bit high, but was told that's fine. (Transmission is a 4L30E)

After adding the fluid, the transmission was acting fine, no slipping, i was driving around for a little bit, then my "Check Trans" light started to flash. Never seeing that before, I headed home. It died just before i got to my driveway.

After 3 months of sitting, i went and bought some parts, because everybody was saying my fuel pump and TBI were shot. Turns out they weren't, and now i owe the in laws $150. :mad3:

I disconnected my fuel line at the filter, placed it into a Gerry can, and turned the motor over, and fuel was going into the Gerry can. I disconnected the line at the TBI, cranked 'er fuel came out.

i rewired the injector wires, and i'm still getting nothing. There is no power going to the injectors, whatsoever. tested with a test light and everything.

i'm getting stressed out, and fed up, and i'm seriously considering calling my friend who has dynamite for construction yards, and seeing how high i can make the hood fly in the air. :flipoff2:

any help would be great.

thanks

did you rewire them because they were burnt from a TBI fire?
If so they may have shorted out and possible toasted the ECM.

You need to get a factory manual and "pin-out" the ECM to see if it's giving voltage when needed.

Also check oil pressure switch for operation,if the oil pressure switch isn't working when engine is cranking you will not get voltage to the injectors(otherwise engine would fill up with raw fuel,if engine didn't want to start)

Just be patient and check everything with and Digital multi-meter,and eliminate "legs" on the wireing schematics
Good luck.

My buddy had his dad (who is also a GM tech) come out, and he says its the ICM???

Is that possible, even if im getting spark?

TBI is very very simple to troubleshoot.

There are several conditions which wouldn't allow the injectors to pulse. One of them is a bad ICM, another is no oil pressure. I would test your oil pressure sensor on the drivers side of the block to make sure it reads something or just replace it because they're pretty cheap i think. When you crank over the motor, if the computer doesnt sense oil pressure it will not allow the injectors to supply fuel. This is why TBI usually cranks for a bit before starting and doesnt instantly fire like a carb'd vehicle.
