I was wondering if anyone has come across a reasonably priced shear that would cut up to aprox. 8"x 1/4" steel.

I have used the enco one rated for I think 8" x 1/4 it is pretty decent especially for the price. That tool is a real time saver.

damn, $4500 would get me a nice used iron worker with a turret punch! I already have plate and sheet metal brakes, tube bender, and sheet metal sheer. The ENCO was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

I hope you aren't going to buy it from that ebay guy. Check out his feedback. Most people aren't too happy with him. But, that thing is bad ass.

fyi. the guy builds them in his shop and only builds them a few at a time. so if you were to order one when he is out then you will wait until he builds more. he was pretty up front with me on the phone about it when i called him. regardless i will not give him any money until the day i pick it up

do you have his contact info ? that is a very sweet unit
having used a 60 ton scotchman for the last year and now not having it to work with i need a smaller unit and with a bender attached makes it even more appealing . do you know if it will bend a 90 in a single push or do you have to take bites ..

Camo or anyone else wanting more info on this guy let me know. I could go down and check his stuff out if you need me to. I live out west and have to go thru the entire town to get to work everyday. :D
