the trail is pretty much a really washed out old fire road, but at the top there are a crap ton of boulder fields to play around on. one of the fields we went to we had about 10 rigs all driving different lines with no one crossing paths. so it is all pretty open up there. and the trail head is really easy to miss it just kinda shoots off of the side of the road. so we are going to park at my buddies house about 5 miles down the street and just drive down the road to get to the trail head.

just east of Alpine. the easiest way is to head out the 8 east and get off at the 78(the exit for going to Descanso) and turn right, follow that road to Lyon Valley rd. (turn left) follow that to around mile marker 13 (there is a detention facility on the left, its about 1.5 miles past that)when you pass the detention facility you will see a trail kinda cutting into the side of the mountain on the right and the trailhead is right on the side of the road. its really easy to miss. and the trail starts off pretty washed out so be ready to put you rig in 4H.

hope this helps

Well I wish I could save money to build a bad ass Jeep, but my addiction to beer is not helping out at all. So far three liberty ports, -$3 grand down and only a hangover to show for it!

How was the 911 trail? And was that's John big ass in the back of the wagoneer in that picture?

The nine-eleven trail was alright. I got hung up on a nasty rock right off the bat and broke a brakeline and bent up my exhaust. I dont know how to drive so shit like that happens to me alot. The rest of the trail is ok. It isnt as hard as bronco peak, or even sidewinder, but there are some good rock outcroppings to play on. It would be worth going out there and taking all of the hardest lines possible and maybe find some ledges to climb around on.

I am going to do the same thing once I get back, well ofter KOH 2011. Here is my list of things to do: 1. Boat side 2. Dash removal / rebuild 3. 6.0 w/ 4l80e install 4. 14 bolt (shaved w/ 5:38) 5. Dana 60 front (w/ 5.38) 6, Atlas 4 speed.

Just a few things to do, I should just build a buggy!

I'm in the middle of doing most of that stuff right now, well except the 6.0 and tranny and it's taking forever to build and new frame/cage/and get the new axles in.
I agree a buggy would me much easier, but what's the fun in that???.....oh wait a min I get to drive it sooner that's the fun in it.

Be safe out there Mike.

I think this time I am going to get all the parts first and then start the next build phase. I can no longer take the long down times without some wheeling!

Yeah it helps for sure, i had most of the parts, still have to order all the gears and lockers...what slowed me up was getting all the tools...tube bender, notcher, drill press, pipemaster and the fact that i was in the middle of buying a house.... Now that I have all that it is starting to pick up speed.

I need to start posting up build pics, but my dog chewed my camera.:mad3:
