YJ4RoX 10-23-2002, 12:12 PM Here are the pics from the Fall Crawl last weekend. I have about 50 more but ran out of web space to host them. Hamilton, Durham & yolanda was there in Shupes rig. I have about an hour of video of them playing on the rocks at Crawfords.

bigdude 10-23-2002, 12:35 PM cool
tuckster 10-23-2002, 12:46 PM maybe it's just me, but Durham and Shupe's wheelbases seem really long... how long are they? Anyone know off the top of their head? Bigdude?
SpaceGhost 10-23-2002, 01:00 PM Hey BigDude, I hear there is gonna be a run back to Tellico in a couple of weeks. You up for it? I am giving it plenty of consideration, I heard some of our fellow competitors are gonna be there.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:11 PM Cool pics, thanks for getting one of me driving Matt's yellow CJ, I ended up breaking one of the u-bolts and that's why I couldn't turn. He'll probally never let me drive again after I broke it. He He
Chris's and Shupee's W/B is around 112" maybe a little more or less but that's close.
My group that I was leading that weekend had 4 rollovers. 3 of them had never been to Tellico before. Wonder if they'll ever be back.

nice 1st post newbie..:flipoff2: welcome.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:21 PM Just a newbie to this board not wheeling. Been doing that since before they had message boards.
Shupe's rig is at 105" and I'm not sure about Durham's new one. I know the first one was in the 112" range. Bigdude or Shupee, have yall considered coming to Oliver Springs, TN to ride up at Windrock at Rattlerock? Being from Knoxville, I shoot the shit with Jim Tunnel at Jim's Off Road Center a lot. I know he wants to get something in line for you all, Durham, Hamilton and everyone else to come up and ride.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:34 PM Seen, I was planning on coming to Windrock the first W/E in Nov, but on the way home from Tellico last W/E I got drilled by a District Attorney who was late for a tee time and driving about 50 in rain over the steepest mountain around. He lost control and destroyed the entire righthand side of my '01 3500 Chevy Dually that I use for a tow rig. Anyway no way to get there until it gets fixed. How long before it gets too cold to ride up there?
It's hard to say with how sporadic the weather has been lately. Once it gets to early-mid november, it's best to pack the Carhartts.
snobrder 10-23-2002, 01:48 PM How long before it gets too cold to ride up there? [/B]
Don't you know that is what jackets are for:flipoff2:
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:49 PM When I get the tow rig back, I'll post and see if you or anybody else will be there. Never done Rattlerock before but I love hardcore wheeling and everyone's told me I gotta try it. I'll either make it or break it trying.
Heck, being as cold as a well diggers ass in the middle of January and running through the woods in the rain is all part of the fun, especially at Tellico. I'm not sure what Rattlerock is like when it's wet and cold.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:52 PM Yeah, I know what jackets are for, but I prefer coveralls.
Just don't want to try it in the snow.
When are you going to be ridin again? We need to meet up when I have my Jeep, I'm tired of breaking everyone else's shit.

If I were not a poor UT student, my junk would be up there as well.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:54 PM As far as Tellico goes, I'd rather do it on the rain and cold in the winter. It keeps all the weekend warriors at home.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 01:58 PM Isn't everyone at UT kinda poor right now with UGA on top of the SEC. He He
I know a few people up that way, and when I come I'll pick you up in Knoxville and you can pull cable for me if I need it. The woman only likes riding with me in the summer. If it's cold she's going shopping or something when I go riding.

If it's cold she's going shopping or something when I go riding. UT has fallen in all sorts of categories, football and party school rankings. Are you a member of Southern by chace? When I have been up there at Rattlerock, it's best to have one or two spotters. I've seen rigs with tons and 38 plus tires walk up it and get hung bigger than dammit the next time up. I've heard of some more mild rigs with 35's walking the dog up there as well.
jeepguru7 10-23-2002, 02:10 PM Yeah, I'm a member of Southern, have been for years. I know they are supposed to have the convention up there somewhere, Oliver Springs? I think. I'm also a member of the Renegades 4WD club of Atlanta.
I usually don't like spotters so I really don't listen to them very well. I'll try as much as poss. before I ask for someone to spot for me. I did all of Tellico this past weekend and didn't use a spotter once so if it's harder than that I might change my mind.
Toddy 10-23-2002, 02:44 PM Tim the guy in the 350 sammmi is a member of the rattlerock club give him a hollar if you come this way. I have not driven it but have watched a few try it. We had to get a buddy jeep the next day on it he broke everything and was there by himself. Be prepared for a hell of a good ride if you caome to Windrock you can ride all day and not pass but a few trucks. Hell hollar at me I will meet ya and pull some cable my truck is a long way from being done.

LUCKY BASTIDS :flipoff2: I will go next time
I only have to get my junk together first
papabear 10-23-2002, 08:34 PM We had a good time, too bad you didnt get to do gaurdrail too.btw,I believe Durham said his buggy was only 101in.wheelbase.
YJ4RoX 10-24-2002, 06:33 AM jeepguru7, sorry to hear about your truck getting mashed, that sucks.
RickyR, it was fun wheeling with you maybe we can run together again someday.
papbear your still a Baztid, hope you got that license plate straightened out:flipoff2:
4x4xtreme, You will have to go down with us this spring. You dont have a D300 laying around anywhere do you?

Hey BigDude, I hear there is gonna be a run back to Tellico in a couple of weeks. You up for it? I am giving it plenty of consideration, I heard some of our fellow competitors are gonna be there.
I'll go if it's the second weekend (Nov. 9-10) or after. I've got about 30 cones at home we can set up to make Hamilton roll over :D
I'm planning on running rattlerock sometime with Tim also, that place sounds cool.
YJ4RoX 10-24-2002, 07:00 AM hey big dude, towzilla had to yank hamilton outta the big rocks at crawfords. It was hilarious, he straddled this boulder and dropped onto the flywheel, looked like a fawking Chopsaw:eek:
They lifted the ass end up about 6' and drug him off. Durham had to get excavated once as well. Shupes rig works excellent, i must admit those BFG's are sweet.
I was thinking durham's wheelbase was a little longer than shupes, looked more like 108-110. just a guess
Bigdude--Is the output on your 4 banger auto 21 spline like the ax5 or is it a 23 spline? I am going to use the flipped D300 with a Klune V as an adapter, i just cant decide to swap in the auto or keep my recycled beer can tranny.
bigdude 10-24-2002, 07:08 AM Auto output is 23 spline
Shupe is 105" (so he says) and Durham is 106" (so he says). I've seen them parked on the same 2 rig trailer in Attica and it looks like more of a difference (Ken said Chris was lying about 106"). BFGs are also about 3/4" of an inch larger than an MTR so that can play tricks on your eyes.
YJ4RoX 10-24-2002, 07:20 AM I say durham'swheelbase is more than 106", there were several scramblers at Crawfords and they are 103", durham's looked several inched longer than them, just eyeballing it.
thanks for the output info man:D

That really does look like a granite dump from coal mining. Cut that junk out of the way to get to the coal, then dump it ove the side of the mountain and make a playground.

That's what it is, and they're all over the place. We just have to get trails to them. It could take a while, since there is 72,000 acres to play on.

Yes, that was Dan. He is really the McGiver of off roading. He has a bag of parts that seems endless. I think he ended up fixing 2 jeeps Friday.
1 was a bent (bad) tie rod and the second was a broken motor mount.
Even with the bald tires he was running (prolly got better traction anyways) he made H-Pad. It was kinda ugly, but he made it.

Ricky beat me to it, but yes that is Dan, really nice guy, let me use his chain & binder to hold my motor in place after the bracket on the block shattered. Seems like everytime he said, Hit it one more time, parts broke. :D

jeepguru7 10-24-2002, 11:00 AM YJ4RoX, Thanks for the comment on the tow rig. The dealer has it now, they started pulling off body panels yesterday, said they could have it done by next Fri, but I doubt it. You should see the dually fenders, the new space-age plastic, the car stopped when it hit the dually tires and had the fender crushed down til it touched the tires, when he backed up it popped right back out! Just needs repainting now.
Grim Reaper, I've done Tellico a couple of times now in the snow, it's a blast. I should see Glenn in a couple of weeks so I'll give him a smack for ya. Ya'll must pull a lot of cable doing Slickrock in the snow, it's slick enough in the summer.

Well I personnaly have never run it in the snow. Just some of our real hardcore nutcases in the club take up that challange. I think they got back around 10pm from that one. The White TJ is Jon (just one more try) Blackledge. Preety well set up Jeep. The Green K10 is RobZilla. He just moved out to AZ and now wheels a 72K5 and runs with Marv Springer if you know who that is then you have an idea of how Rob is :) The year before they ran 12 and got caught on Helicopter pad in the snow and I think they came down School bus.
The rest of the club stays on 4,5,6,8 and upper 2 on wintermadness run.
74_Chevota 10-24-2002, 08:31 PM The Fall crawle was crazy this year! It was cool getting to see everyone else rides. Mabey next time the cruiser will be ready :(

toytek, i would have given all my beer to drive shupe's rig for 15 minutes.
How much does it cost to run at Windrock? its west of knoxville correct? That place looks fun!
jeepguru7 10-25-2002, 08:55 AM Jeff, just hold the strap until I come up there again unless you'll be coming down to Atl. If so give me a call and I'll meet you somewhere. I ended up giving you the wrong one anyway. How hard was it to figure out how those stupid tie down hooks work? I meant to give you my good strap, Oh well.
Tommy, whazzup? You just better be glad we don't play the Pack or we'd knock them outta the rankings too. Look out Fla. were coming to Jax to knock ya'll outta the rankings! Give me a call Tommy. Later
jeepguru7 10-25-2002, 08:58 AM YJ4Rox, I think it's like 10 bucks a day to ride at Windrock or you could buy a yearly pass. Someone from up there tell me if I'm wrong.
For contact info try www.windrockoffroad.com
YJ4RoX 10-25-2002, 10:20 AM Thanks for the link jeepguru, i have to make it down there next spring. Should be a closer drive than Tellico.

You're right, 10 bucks a day or $50 for the year. If anyone plans on getting a year pass, a word of advice, get it in January because it runs from Jan. to Jan., not from whatever month you bought it.
You may want to try these sites, http://atvohio.com/Trails/CCMC.html or www.windrockatv.com . The one listed above is Jim's Off Road (junk). He just changed the name to Windrock Off Ro ad.

Hey Jeff, what happened to just Toytek?
Jayrockn7 10-25-2002, 12:20 PM Sorry To tell you, but Jim's Off-Road Warehouse is not Jim's Off-Road Center, that's one of the reasons for the name change. They were using Jim's name to help launch the business, now they have changed it so there wouldn't be anymore confusion. Tim what are you and your gang up to this weekend? I may be going with a small group of jeeps to Windrock this Sat. hope it doesn't rain:( they are wanting to hit RattleRock last. Just wanting to know if any of your club was going to be there.
350 Samurai 10-25-2002, 12:45 PM Ya learn something new every day on this board. Thanks for straightening me out.:D
