How long of a tranny can I put in a stock wheel base sammy before the rear drive shaft point straight up or causes problems? The tranny I got is 36" not including the transfer case and the motor is the same length as the zuki....

I got a motor to do a swap but the tranny is long and I know I'm going to have to move the transfer case back.

Thanks for the help and I did try the search button.......

i know john, i'm going to rebuild my 1.3L and little by little collect the parts for the 1.6L swap.......... and i'll probility have the 1.6L in within the next 2 years....... but for now i'm staying with my 1.3L, since it was a good motor and only had 123 000 KM(not miles) on it now........

for some reason john you have a way of talking me out of doing every engine swap i wanted so far, , but now that i think about it i think this is the better way to go.........:D

Hey John,

Where were you wne I needed you?

3 damn engine swaps later..

j/k ;)

p.s. To answer the question about a 36" transmission length.. What the hell tranny is 36" long? I thought the rotary at 32" was about as long as they come! You are pushing the limits on that one. You WILL have to move the t-case back, and maybe the axle a bit. I think it will fly though. What engine?

:D hehehe, yeah, i'd probility be still trying to work out the bugs in the 2.8L with an adapter plate ..............:D

well hear comes the thanks john...................." ----------- you ":flipoff2:

and for the 36" tranny, i'll just say he has a plan, i personally wouldn't use that engine but everyone has there likes and dis-likes.............
good luck with it anyways gaetan..........:D

If your going to do it , do it right.
Rebuild the 1.3 properly, just don't throw a junk yard motor in and expect it to work for you.
