this seems to be a popular topic of late... soooooo....
can these just be plopped into the tranny, i.e., unscrew old auto valve body, replace with manual valve body and go from there?
how much do these bad boy cost?
how does it affect shifting? (rougher, firmer, smoother, etc)

IT IS A BOLT IN THE MAJORITY OF THE ONES ON THE MARKET ARE FOR RACE ONLY SO THERE IS NO ENGINE BRAKING. AS FAR AS SHIFTING HARD THERE NOT TOO BAD. THE ONLY DOWN FALL IS IF YOU DRIVE IT ON THE STREET AND STOP AND HAVE IT IN 3RD IT WILL TRY TO STAY IN 3RD ON TAKE OFF ALSO THERE IS NO KICK DOWN....SO FOR OFFROAD LOOK FOR ONE THAT HAS ENGINE BRAKING IN 1-2 I THINK ATI IS THE ONLY ONE'S THAT DO THIS. AS FAR AS PRICE THERE ANYWHERE FROM 150.00 TO 400.00

Art Carr sells them too. around $200. I had to email the company, couldn't figure anything out on their site. A great way not to do a webpage.
