Hey guys thinking about heading up to Farmington the week of the 6th - 12th. How are the crowds over the holiday weekend? Also are there enough trails open to wheel for a week?
Hey 667 guys any of you plannong on hitting the trails durning that time?

Get there by the 4th and lend a hand if you can. We will definatly be wheelin on the 5th and some may still be in one piece on the 6th.

We will be out for the clean up for sure. A week is a lot of wheeling but you can wheel for 3 or 4 days at choke cherry and a good full day at rock garden. Probably can't wheel with you every day but after work and can point you towards the trails while we do have to work. Some of us can sneak away during the day but can't really count on it.

If you can move your trip up a few days there will be plenty of folks to 'wheel with. Myself and at least six others will be coming in on the 2nd, and staying untill at least the 5th. The trails should not be that crowded, as they were'nt last year, and we had a record number of participants at the clean-up. There's plenty of trails and playgrounds that I don't see a problem with conjestion/waiting around for ever to run trail. Come on out earlier, run some trails, and help out if you can!

Thanks Guys. I did not know about the clean up.
We will do what we can to get there in time to help out! That said I don't see anyway I can leave Houston an sooner than 5:00PM on the 3rd:mad3:. It's about 17 hours for us(according to Mapquest) but with four of us we will try to push it to get there as soon as possible.
How far is it from Farmington to Moab or Montrose?
With a week IF we run out of stuff to run we will look at hitting some other spots I guess. We may look at heading to Cortez to "visit" some.:smokin:
Plus I figure if we get to wheel with the 667 guys we will need some time to make repairs:D:D.
I've already begun getting my car ready for the "hit it or die" climbs so i'm sure it'll be an interesting trip to say the least. Accumulator for the steep climbs, extra shaved R&P:mad3:, HELMET:D, Oh shit bar for the co-pilot:eek:. Who knows I might even put in the Window nets before then:p.

It's about 3 hrs to Moab, another 2 to Montrose coming from Moab. Do yourself a favor if you're going to Moab and hit Area BFE. There's a good couple days of wheelin' there alone. I think "Larrys" will be in Moab the week after the clean-up...He can show you around Area BFE...

Jusr realized that the GSR stampede is September 8-12th. We will still be out for the clean up and wheeling that whole weekend and can show you around until we leave but most of the crew will be headed to Reno I think.

If you arent just there to wheel wheel wheel {IE you like to party and hang out with buds and fawk around}......... Theres almost enough wheeling out there to enjoy for 4ish days without doing many trails twice or more.. Thing is, there are multiple lines on every obstacle and running them over and over again never gets boring.

You could always cruise through Las Cruces and spend a day or two wheeling that area.

We talked about that this weekend:D.
I think we are going to wheel Farmington and then head on to Moab since it's so close(we are 4 1/2 hours from any wheeling so 3 extra hours is not much to us!).
