Okay, does an 1980 Scout D300 use the same adapter as a D20?
For instance, if mating to a TH350, would a D20 adapter work or is the same bolt pattern on the front the only commonality? any other tricks, tips, things to note? -Thanks!

Same "Texas" pattern, just uses one less bolt.

bull gear is specific though... make sure you get it.

Yeah, I knew about the "Texas" pattern as opposed to round thing(didn't know there was one less bolt though)
...The gear is where I think the problem will be(It has a Tera 4:1 kit in it too) I'm sure I will probably have to go with a new adapter that is specific...Was just hoping I could pick up a used TH350/D20 adapter and save some $

Hold on there turbo, I doubt the Scout 300 is going to work with your 350. Is the 350 10 spline output? There are no bull gears for a Scout 300 that are 10 spline. If the case has a Tera 4:1 then it can only be a 6 spline bull gear. THe auto trannies used a 23 spline bull gear.

all depends on what the out-put of the tranny (in this case, the addapter) is....


can't remember a Scout off hand (I want to say 6-spline, but don't remeber dia), call tera and find out what options they offer, then find out what gear the D300 you're looking at has, then find your addapter or call the manufacture...


I suspect it will all be the same/avaliable, expecialy since the addapters were made to bolt up a Stock D20...

other than after-market... where would one find th350->D20 adapter..... did any rigs use this stock???


I know there is a th400->D20 unit.... but is there a "factory" th350->20 unit???

I wasn't epecting to find a stock adapter, but I have seen a few used TH350/D20 aftermarket adapters for sale, and know were there's one right now and I never see any TH350/Scout D300 adapters being unloaded cheap. I DO have the 6 spline on the Tera gear...Is this differnet from stock Scout 300 gears? I am not real familiar with the Dana 300. I am going to get some more info on the adapter that is currently for sale. I am just trying to do some homework ahead of time;) Thanks for all the info:D

Didn't some blazers come with TH350's and a 20 (Different 20 though anyways)

If you get a th350 to Jeep/Scout 20 adaptor, make sure that the spud shaft (It should have to use a spud shaft) is 6 spline. My old SM465 to 20 had a spud shaft that was 10 spline female to 6 spline male. A Scout 300 would bolt right up!.
