OK guys, as we speak I am trying to get the coil springs out of my 84 ranger. The bottom retaining nut will NOT come loose. I tried heating it, WD-40ing it, PB blastering it, and man handleing it. Anyone have any other brilliant idea. I NEED HELP!!!

Dont have one. Closest thing I have is a propane torch.

The bolt goes through the axle housing. Its a D28 TTB front end.

Your not using enough leverage....

If your using an open end closed end combo wrench.... use another opened end to hook into the wrench and act as a breaker bar for more leverage.....

If your using a socket and a breaker bar... use a cheater pipe. Get the biggest mother fawking pipe you can fit over the breaker bar or ratched and put your back into it.

Or you can use a 2lb sledge to impact what ever you are using to take the nut off.

Removing a nut :shaking: Stupid newbie. :flipoff2:

A --- You cannot get a socket/ratchet in there

B --- I dont have a 1 1/8" closed end wrench

C --- I am using an adjustable with a cheater pipe over it. Problem is the wrench keeps slipping off.

D --- I tried using a 14lb sledge to impact the break.

I am not the putz that cant get a bolt off my truck. Stop being such a cheap fawk and buy the right tools. You can afford the truck... so if you know your the anwser to your own question, save our fawking time, and go buy a wrench :flipoff2:

If you know the wrench is slipping... *ding ding*... then what did you THINK the problem was.

HAHAHA, so very true.

Believe it or not, I have a huge adjustable that really works as a wrench, honest. Although the more times it sees a big cheater bar, the closer it comes to being the adjustable nut rounder we all know and have come to hate...

Well, it is done. I posted the question at 10pm on thursday night. I dont believe there are any stores open that late that sell decent tools. I went up and bought the wrench at Sear's friday and it is done. Truck is lifted.
