What a drive....North Carolina to Mississippi to Colorado Springs..
in my jacked up RR(loaded down with gear)....70 to 80 the whole way.. at about Atlanta, tranny started dripping fluid...had to top it off every fill-up...Checked my lt 230, axles, and swivel balls twice..
They produce a nice anti-corrosion spray for my undercarriage and rear glass. The water level light started flashing in New Mexico/Texas panhandle line. Scared the hell outa me cause I was in BFE no one for at least 50 miles. Went to fill it up and it was fine...blinks every once in a while still. Got to CO Springs and that night it snowed...of coarse the freaken heater/defroster doesn't work...I need a Toyota (J/K wouldnt get rid of the RR for the world) For the trip, I bought 285/75R16 BFG MT's on GCR steel wheels... They look cool, have great grip, and ride 1000% better than the 265 SSR's I had....I highly recomend them. I need to link up with some of ya'll and do some trails.

Wow, sounds like a real trip man.

I just noticed your location.
You are the only person from Ms (other than myself;)) that I know of on this board. Have you been in Ms. long?

I am in Madison too.

I am building a tube buggy with 53" Michelin XL's, Unimog U-1300 axles, 4 wheel steering, 500ci. Caddy engine, and allot of other parts to be decided. I am still in the parts collection stage. I hope to have it finished within 6 months. I am trying to start up a business at the same time, so resources are split between starting up hobby business/building up hobby vehicle.

Kinda cool to run into somebody from Madison on POR. I never thought it would happen.

Doo Doo,
Check the www.roverriders.org Website. They are running Mt. Crystal this weekend. Not terribly hard, but a good way to get to know some people out here.

Are you moving here, or just visiting?

BTW I won't be on the Mt Crystal trip this weekend, I am going to Moab. Just not taking the truck for once. Figure I'll give the wife some "Quality" time. wink wink...

I didn't think anyone in madison would be building such a cool rig..
I'd like to check it out next time I'm in town. I was in town last sat and sun......

Red Rangie...

I'm at Carson...pretty cool around Col. Springs, alot better than Bragg...I might pm Way...I think I'll pass his truck on the road eventually...

Moving here for a while...I checked out that site..but I need to get my tranny checked out before I go riding. Plus, I still have 10 splines, though I haven't broke them yet, I also didn't bring my spares. I going to get RockWare do some work for me soon.

you aren't trying hard enough if you haven't broken a 10 spline are you locked? Sounds fishy

Well, (getting my 12 step routine going)

Hi, my name is John, and I am too cheap to spend 3k for axles and lockers until I break my shiat.

I have done most of the 4 rated trails in Moab, and all but Iron Chest and Holy Cross in Colorado in an unlocked, 32" tire'd, 10 splined Rover.

Now, I would say that is trying pretty hard. Although as all that will attest that wheel with me, I do go real slow.

I can contest to wheeling with John, and I am suprised he hasn't broke the 10 splines yet as well!!! Strange for sure.

Brown...look forward to seeing you in the springs. I live close to the intersection of Nevada and Fillmore St.

I have heard good things about Predator 4x4 for overall service work. As far as diognostics, you might as well take it to Land Rover of Colorado Springs as not too many people can read the codes. That doesn't necessarily mean that once it is diagnosed that you should have them do the work....shop rates at Land Rover are expensive.

I do not drive my Land Rover on a daily basis so you probably won't see it too often. My work phone in the springs is 636-3844. Feel free to call me there anytime. We can schedule a time to get lunch and chat.
