: Need opinions on what you'd want

When buying an aftermarket seat for your jeep how important is it that it bolts directly to your existing sliders/brackets? Would you want to purchase new brackets and/or sliders or reuse what you have?
Keep in mind that bracket pricing would be around $200 for both side brackets that slide and the passenger side would also tilt forward as do most jeep brackets. Please give me some good feedback on this one. Thanks.

What would I want.... seats that don't tear from sliding across them to get in. :D

The sliders don't come off the TJ seats. I think. Didn't look like it anyway. The Brackets do, so I wouldn't need those.

The seat I get will be supportive (sides too), recline and slide, and able to accept full harness.

So what do you have?

Thanks for the feedback keep it coming.

The TJ sliders do in fact come off of the seats. It just isn't very apparent until you remove the entire assembly from the jeep and flip it upside down. The company I'm working with would accomodate all of your needs except for the recline. They are "suspension" style seats.

No brackets. Keep it cheap because seat covers only cost about $40 and you need to compete with that :D

Price - brackets and sliders don't matter, I'm not getting any taller or shorter;) I just bolt the seats where they belong

1) PRICE. anything more than $180-ish a seat I'd scoff at. $200 would be the breaking point for me. $400 is a locker and my rearend is more imprtant than my ass. (sounds repetitive, huh?)

2) WIDTH. I'm 48" at the shoulders. I've found few seats that are big enough and have side bolsters that dont crush my rib cage.

3)UPHOLSTRY. I don't think I'd care what it looks like, but it's gotta be durable. the Bestop seat canvases are too thin and rip in short order. the Corbeaus have a cheap cloth that stains and pills up like cheap sweat shirts.

4) RECLINE/FOLD FORWARD. not a big priority in a small Jeep, but it's a big thing that the seat flop forward in the bigger rigs like 2 door FSJ's. you can't get into the back seat otherwise. the Mastercrafts and others are nice with the fixed back, but how the hell am I supposed to get in the back of my 78 Chief ? I'd guess Bronco's and K5's have similar issues.
