you guys are missing the point. No matter how :rainbow: a liberty is,and no matter how much the IFS suck. The liberty is still a JEEP and some people are going to wheel them.20 years ago XJs were gay and look at them now there are more well built XJs poppin up out of he wood work then you can shake a stick at.the libertys arent bad hell a SAS and some cutting and you could have a good rig.seven slots is all that matters.

GPN Family, is it 2004 already? My calendar must be off...
Liberty guy, I applaud whatever you're trying to do with that thing but does it really have a place here? Take a sledgehammer to the body and roll it a couple of times and I'll take you seriously. But for Chrissake, that is a Liberty and WTF does it have to do with the PBB? You know, extreme rock crawling, much as I hate to use the first word- I'm seeing a serious dilution of content here. A couple Libby bumpers, which bolt on TJ kit, "I need that winch I wanna win!" and where does it stop? Why don't you go back to JU? I don't mean this as a personal attack, it's more like this is Pirate, that's a Liberty, who cares. Go away. Don't fuck up my favorite website with your mallcrawler.

That is all.

I have rolled it already but I don't consider that a badge of honor. That is where the two tone color came from. I have bashed it around and repaired the damage. I happen to like real Jeeps with frames but this thing wheels too. I DID THE NORMAL CHECK IN AND READ THE GUIDELINES...I don't take your comment as a personal attack. I respect the mindset here so I don't post often. Everyonce in a while ( I read the majority of posts here ) I get an itch to post something...No big deal...I always put KJ or Liberty in the title so people can skip it if they want.

Well, you have a good attitude for a newbie. Get that thing on some 37's and check back later! Hint: a shot upside down would do you better than the parking lot pic. Glad to see TR has come out with a bumper that doesn't look like a steel alien in attack mode.
I stand by my earlier comments. The JU-ification of PBB is coming. Stand guard!

No, first was getting rid of the rust (and painting flat black). THEN I swapped axles, did a springover and lifted the front.

thats not a bad bumper, but :rainbow: ass color. why not go um I dont know white or something? so it atleast it matches. I not a big fan of the rave four/envoy/crv/little suv rigs and the liberty is not any different, those things look gross.

The color of the bumper matches the two tone color of the rest of the KJ.

As for style over funtion...the bumper has better/stronger tow points, is real metal instead of a plastic facia and gives me a much better departure angle.

I have done plenty of other mods that improve off-road performance...lift, armor, locked ect. Not going to bring up tires since they are not the minimum 33's yet. I have done some trimming which is pretty well hidden...except the front

So...why don't we make it a pay only site? I see alot of bitchin, and not that many red stars!:D
Maybe that would keep out the JU crap.

Is there any Liberty left on that thing besides grille/headlights/hood? Hell, why not make it a BMW X5?

That's as much "OEM Equipment" as most serious competition rockcrawlers. What's your point? Would you rather have every rig be exactly the same as the next. Maybe they can have a "Spec Rockcrawling Rig Competion" where every part is the same.

I understand that most competition crawlers only sport a hood and grille of their so-called vehicle, hell, who's the guy again with the Toyota Matrix?? My point is, if you're going to call it something that it is not, why not go with something a bit more exotic than a KJ? Throw a ZO6 front end on there :D

How about this: why don't you build a bumper instead of bolting on a TR product and then show us what you got. Anyone can whip out the money and bolt on a bumper  Thought this was a fab it yourself board?

I understand your point. If I had the time and equipment, I would have liked to do that. I have fab skills ( built/raced Mazdas for over 14 years + 14 years before with other makes ) but do not have the time/facilitiy to build right now. I barely have the time to install the damn thing. I got kind of burned out after so many years of wrenching everynight. When I bought the KJ, I really did not plan on 4Wheelin'. I needed a good solid vehicle to get me around in bad weather ( Full-Time 4WD) and carry my gear securely. I should have known from past experience that I would not be able to leave well enough alone. I got hooked on 4Wheelin'.

I'll be slinking back to JU now...but I will still be reading and learning...great Klune thread...maybe I will build a custom Klune...j/k

Not a big fan of the Lib, but that is the best bolt on mod I've seen for it so far.
