Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure. A wise man once said "don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see".
Wheeling without abusive banter just wouldn't suffice.

Blue & Silver Chevy on 1-tons and 38's. It's nothing too extreme, but its still fun. I still drag it with my black Dodge, it'll be at the campground. I'll PM you my number if you want to give us a call when you roll in if we aren't still around the campsite.

I'm not sure when our next trip will be, probably the first weekend in October since there's a TREC race that Saturday night. Wouldn't mind heading down to Flat Nasty or Washita sometime, but Attica is almost too close not to go to.

That's cause you took all the bypasses :flipoff2:
It was nice meeting you and yours Dave. I'm sure we'll run into each other again sometime.
I've got high hopes for your baby jeep. Lock the front and find a way to soften it up a bit and I'm sure it'll do just fine.

Likewise! Next time your wheeln make sure ya give me a shout!
Its going to be tough for me to keep from swapn one tons under the Baby Jeep.
I think I'm goin to Hobart lock the front and maybe pull a leaf out of the front packs. Bump the rear axle back one inch... If that dont make it better I have a set of 2.0 FOX air shocks and a pile of DOM and nylon bushings just waiting for a 3 link or somethin. :D
JohnnyU 08-19-2010, 02:46 PM That's cause you took all the bypasses :flipoff2:
I took two bypasses on one trail, fawker. Only reason I did that was because there was a 7000# chunk of blue shit high-centered on the rocks that I had to save, and I was quickly approaching 250°F. :flipoff2:
I followed you all day before that, and all day Saturday too. The Ballerina Pig did just fine following your skinny ass, thank you. :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Excuses, excuses. We should've let him hang there to dry. I distinctly remember saying they could walk the trail, or stay where they were - I'd run it and come right back. Someone on the other end of the radio told me to wait up...
Two bypasses on a trail that only has two obstacles. Pink is only like 500ft long haha.
Also, I don't remember you trying the ledge I climbed just before we ran into Dave, nor the gnarly ledge to the left just as you enter the quarry. While we're at it, I believe you hung a left in that pic that Dave posted, rather than following me on the harder line to the right.
You'll probably say something about not being able to fit down the right line, so how about the hill with the washout at the top? Plenty of room there. No go on the steeper ledge in the back corner of the quarry either.
Your Ballerina Pig is gonna need some lessons if it wants to dance with my rig :flipoff2:
Shall I continue or would you rather I stop while you're behind :D
Its all in good fun man. I'm glad you guys decided to make the trip.
NT2HLBLY 08-19-2010, 04:49 PM Hell I made that pass on the rite with the Baby Jeep. :flipoff2:
We are tryn to fix that U joint... This is how you do it rite?

I didn't know he was going to run that one either. I was heading down there to follow you through, didn't really think he was going to. We should have let him sit there for a bit...
Uh...
We rode home in A/C, so there. :flipoff2:
We are tryn to fix that U joint... This is how you do it rite?
Yup, looks like the quickest, simplest way to me! :D
Bray D 08-19-2010, 07:50 PM We rode home in A/C, so there. :flipoff2:
Man it was stupid hot on the way home! I had my t-shirt stuffed around my t-case shifter so that helped a little bit. The sun was cooking me the whole way home. That's about the only thing that sucks about it being a straight shot, I couldn't get out of the sun!
Dave - You're doing it all wrong. You're supposed to detach the axle, then move the TRUCK. That way you have plenty of room to work on the axle. The way you've done it, you'll have to work on it outside and in the elements. You'll figure it out one of these days. :shaking:
:flipoff2:
So what's goin in?
NT2HLBLY 08-19-2010, 08:34 PM AAM 9.25 Same thing thats under my 08 tow rig... Done!!!

Bray D 08-19-2010, 08:41 PM That was quick. Looks good. She'll like those tires too I'm sure.
When's the next trip :D
indytrucks 08-19-2010, 09:03 PM What'cha doin with that 44 that was in there?
JohnnyU 08-20-2010, 06:55 AM Better make sure to re-torque those lug nuts. :homer:
:Edit:
Fine Bray, you're truck is more hardcore than mine, is that what you want to hear? :flipoff2:
I have two more things to say:
1) At least I bring my monster full-size to parks and into the woods (unlike one of us with a 4-link f/r, 44's, etc.), who leaves it at home.
2) I remember you saying that you were fairly impressed by that truck when we were there, until you get behind a keyboard again...:flipoff2::flipoff2:
I'm excited for next time, although I think driveshaft protection might be smart. If I find a trailer of my own, I wouldn't mind heading down to MO for a weekend either.

I had to steel lugnuts off the tow rig! :shaking:
Got my guy getn some new ones from the dealer STAT!
You can borrow my 18 footr :D
NT2HLBLY 08-20-2010, 08:42 AM What'cha doin with that 44 that was in there?
Hoping to get some $$$ out of it so she can buy some new shocks.
JohnnyU 08-20-2010, 10:07 AM You can borrow my 18 footr :D
I would really like to find a 25' Gooseneck. Deckover or low-deck doesn't matter. I've seen some decent ones, but they're all seemingly over-priced at $4k plus. That's a bit much for a 10 year old trailer when I can buy the same thing brand new for only a couple hundred more.
NT2HLBLY 08-20-2010, 10:17 AM I traded a TJ for my 40" goose.

Nope, I just don't want you lying to millions of people saying your fullsize followed a mini truck all weekend long :flipoff2:. You've gotta be a realist.
I have two more things to say:
1) At least I bring my monster full-size to parks and into the woods (unlike one of us with a 4-link f/r, 44's, etc.), who leaves it at home.
That's irrelevant. It effects neither you nor me.
2) I remember you saying that you were fairly impressed by that truck when we were there, until you get behind a keyboard again...:flipoff2::flipoff2:
I never said the truck didn't do well. I just felt the need to clarify when you claimed to conquer the same obstacles I did. I'd hope you'd do fairly decent, being on tons and 38.5's (?) following a DD on 35's :flipoff2:
I'm excited for next time, although I think driveshaft protection might be smart. If I find a trailer of my own, I wouldn't mind heading down to MO for a weekend either.
Yeah I'd like to have some driveshaft protection as well. I know what I need to do, I just need to do it. It's hard to motivate myself when I know I can play at the Badlands without worrying about it. I know I'd like to have the extra insurance there if I were to venture into less familiar terrain though (read: other parks).
School starts Friday. I'll still be working through the week, but my weeks will be done on Friday at 4pm. That gives me enough time to travel Friday afternoon, camp, wheel, etc. the rest of the weekend.
Brad - Its all part of the game brotha :D
JohnnyU 08-21-2010, 06:18 AM Nope, I just don't want you lying to millions of people saying your fullsize followed a mini truck all weekend long :flipoff2:. You've gotta be a realist.
Bah, it's the internet. Everyone embellishes their story. And I did follow you 90%, can't be an internet badass and deny that. I even took that one funky line to the right on the orange trail - when we busted out the moose call. :grinpimp:
That's irrelevant. It effects neither you nor me.
100% relevant. All I'm saying is that I actually wheel my "badass redneckmobile" Even though it's basically a 6" lifted F-150. Besides, being conservative a better than following you somewhere that I know I shouldn't go and getting hung up on my frame for 30 minutes just to be at the mercy of everyone else. :shaking: I learned that in the 4x4 Bible....
At least my co-pilot wasn't bitching and moaning all weekend. :flipoff2:

Look at the scale factor, trucks are nearly equal. I would venture to guess that you actually have more belly clearance than I do though. Although the 1-tons and v-8/Auto are nice. :flipoff2:

I know what I need to do as well, just finding the time to do it. I am usually out of work by 4pm on Fridays, and I frequently take Friday afternoons off, so that might work out well too. Next time we go, lets make sure we shake some baggage, and I'll follow you everywhere I can squeeze through. We should try to drag pansy-ass along too. Although you and I both know he'll come up with some excuse not to bring the truck though.:shaking:
It's all good though, I'm still figuring out the whole full-size wheelin thing. These pigs are bigger in ever aspect and harder to maneuver and man-handle through stuff than those little Rangers were. In time, I hope to have your prowess with it. :D
Should have come along Brad, it really was a good weekend.
Dave, we'll head out again this fall at least once. With everything else going on, it's just hard to get out super frequently. Pathetic really. :shaking:
EarthResin 08-21-2010, 02:55 PM See ya September 10th weekend.
John, you better be looking for a trailer, as I just heard from a little birdy that a certain BII just fired up again tonight!
Glad you guys had fun.
JohnnyU 08-23-2010, 05:44 AM See ya September 10th weekend.
September 10th, huh? I don't think I'm going to be able to make that, was planning on October 2nd though.
Yea, I'm still looking for something, hate to spend a ton on something I only use a few times a year, but it is worth it.
We did have a blast though, even though it was a warm weekend. You would have had a good time as well, oh well there's always next time!

You'd surprised once you have a nice trailer how much you'd pull it around and the places you go. I've had my new trailer hooked onto my SD pretty much all summer long. Pretty nice to have that peace of mind when you are halfway across the state.

True, and as a "home" owner with a bit of land, I always seem to have a need for a trailer. Even if it's just to brush and garbage out. I wouldn't mind buying Wirsch's, it just needs heavier axles and e-rated tires I think. Hauls the truck MUCH better than my yellow pintle did though.

Yeah I can imagine your front end wanting to get a little light pulling that thing around. All you'd really need is something #15K or over 20' gooseneck deck over and that would fit your truck just about perfect.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Keep an eye out for me, I'd love to find one for right around $2500. You know, a good deal...:shaking:
