: Keg Removal Advice
Pinkcurlsnpearls 08-13-2010, 04:56 PM When I moved into my house I inherited 3 kegs turned oil drums. Obviously they can't be turned back in to the liquor store. The land fill will not accept them because they are filled with oil and other vehicular fluids. Not to mention they are technically considered stolen property. Any suggestions to get rid of these?
Corey Young 08-13-2010, 04:59 PM Recycle the oil at a local auto parts store and put the stainless containers on the curb with a free sign on them.

Bring oil to recycler.
Put empty kegs on curb as scrap or fill with concrete for boat mooring purposes.
Thats what everyone around here does with them.
( if they are old stainless kegs then craigslist them as lots of people make BBQ's out of stainless kegs around here)
JLoyd71 08-13-2010, 07:44 PM That'd be hilarious to see someone do a keg stand with that stuff. So sell it to some kids, then the Nekkid pics sounds good.

Never heard of a keg bbq. Interesting concept. I guess my big issue is the amount of oil that I have to recycle and I can't really waltz into Auto Zone with a keg...let alone three. Thinking craigslist is a good plan. I'm actually having a garage sale next weekend..I wonder if anyone would actually buy them....
Look in the yellow pages for an oil recycler. My neighbour does this and he would come get your oil for free, maybe you could find someone like that?
Juztyn00 08-13-2010, 09:31 PM Drain the oil and advertise in the Auto parts section of CL as Keg Gas tanks.
Edit: don't do autozone, call around to see if you can find an old school garage or oil change place, A lot of those places have waste oil heaters in them
surveyboy 08-13-2010, 09:31 PM if its really oil, post it up on CL and some guy with a diesel will buy it and use it
daddytall 08-13-2010, 09:36 PM Kill it with fire.
supersize75k5 08-13-2010, 09:37 PM What you have is not a problem.. it's an opportunity !
I've got a person on my shit list for something really.. really bad he did., when I need to dump something I know just where to head to:D
Think of this person and write karma on the kegs.
Your municipal recycling center will have oil recycling.

Fudpucker 08-14-2010, 12:19 AM If they're stolen, call the cops.. have them come pick'em up for evidence :D
7.62FMJ 08-14-2010, 02:38 AM I wish I could take them off your hands. I could use the oil to fuel my M35A2, and reuse the kegs indefinately for WMO, and filtering it for use as fuel...
Shipping to 24014?
Citzen_Hawk 08-14-2010, 02:54 AM just a though places/individuals that do metal forging might want it it for oil quenching
