He is a pretty interesting dude. By day he is a pre-school teacher. By night he DJ's, bartends and does magic all over the local area. He is a pretty damn impressive magician. He get's hired to do what he calls "walk around" magic, kinda stuff that David Blane does. He's fun to hang out at bars with because he always busts out the magic tricks and draws a crowd. He is pretty much out every night doing this stuff. He has gigs at the local bars because it draws a crowd so they pay him just to walk around and freak people out.

So, another buddy bought a bar a year ago and was throwing a 1 year anniversary party last weekend. Mike was originally going to do the Houdini hanging straight jacket escape but the bars insurance said no. So instead, Mike has himself strapped up in a straight jacket and then has himself sealed inside of a giant plastic bag. It was pretty intense.

The real action doesn't start until 5-6 min in.

I've dabbled in magic on and off over the years since I was maybe 5. I like watching the big illusions and escapes and all, but I'm more into simple sleight-of-hand stuff. A guy who can warp your mind with an ungimmicked deck of cards, a few half dollars or quarters, or even ordinary items like a golf ball is what impresses me.

Greg Wilson and Jay Sankey are some of the names that come come to mind.

The small slight of hand stuff is what he mostly does. He has only done a couple of these larger type things. The shit that he does with with forks bending and snapping in half is amazing.
