Another Craiglist adventure... :shaking::shaking:

An Asian gentleman comes to look at some wheels I'm selling. Driving a decent Toyota Van w/ goofy wheels and two young kids in tow (~5 and ~3). Besides almost throwing him off the property for offering me 1/2 of the price and telling me the sob story of how expensive it is to mount tires, I ALMOST went off on him when he said....

"I don't let him speak English at home. I'm teaching him my native language. I don't wnat him learning English. I'm not sure where he picks it up..." :eek::eek:

Doesn't want his kids to learn English.. W.T.F.???

My Grandparents were the exact opposite - "You speak English and only english" when they came here. I feel bad for this guys kids.

My dad is dating a white chick and her 2 boys have an asian dad. Same fucken thing, wanting them to only speek english when absolutley needed. They feel that other races are below them and should not respect us.

If someone is not willing to learn my language, then they should not be living in my country.

We have room but for one flag, the American flag . . .
We have room but for one language, and that is the English language . . .
And we have room for but one sole loyalty...and that is a loyalty to the American people." - Theodore Roosevelt

Was he Hmong?

How close to the Twin Cities are you (very close I am assuming)

Move further out from the ring and the people get more "normal" :D

Well, as normal as anyone in Minnesota can be :laughing:

I believe so. I'm 30 miles outside of St. Paul - he drove up to look at wheels. Like I said, nice enough guy, but the "I don't want him speaking english" thing threw me.
