Getting some very positive feedback from the employer, everything seems to link up with what I'm looking for...
Just looking for general info on the area at this point.

well, do you want some or not? :p
Nice area, good schools, conservative county just north of liberal mecca (Austin). Home prices $150-300k in the usual neighborhoods, land available east, west, north
I'm now in a neighboring town :p

I grew up there. It is a great town. It has tripled in size since I lived there. It is not done growing.
Lake G'town is a decent lake. I don't know if it is now overrun with douchebags.
There are some really cool communities on the outskirts of G'town. The area is peppered with Czechs and Germans.
The schools were really good when I was there. I don't know about now.
Good luck.

Been a few years since I was on it but it's still mostly fisherman on Georgetown with a few rich kids running their jet ski's around. The douchebag magnetism of Lake Travis is too close :D

My stepfather's sister has lived there for quite a while. Seemed to be a nice area when we visited.

Sweet......Georgetown Lake is fawkin sweet. However, I did smack the shore while knee-boarding one time, and between the rocks and cactus it was not fun.
